I have a 2011 Maz 8. Awesome amp, love the boost pedal when in the Triode mode. If I ordered the Variable Boost pedal, is it plug and play, or is there a mod that needs to be done before I could use it vs. using the regular boost pedal?

Nope, plug and play. If you want a taste of what it’s like, plug a volume pedal in between the boost switch and the amp. You’ll get an idea of what it’s like, with the bonus of being able to swell the boost as needed. Negative is unless you’re at minimum or maximum on the volume treadle, the boost is always somewhat active even in the off position.

Hi rick. Glad you like the Maz 8. I got one in August of 2016. Been playing it ever since. The variable boost foot switch will plug right in to your Maz 8 No mod necessary. At some point, you might want to try the Russian 6n14n EL84 output tube. They've been the factory stock output tube for a few years. They sound great, and last a looong time ( a couple thousand hours is no problem). Forum member Perry R. is the source. Here's a link to his Reverb page. BTW... the price posted is for a matched quad. Perry sells singles. reverb.com/item/3404159-nos-russian-6n14n-el84-power-tubes-quad-for-your-dr-z-trainwreck-1980-s
