I've found that for me at least, running my overdrive/distortion pedals at 18 volts doesn't sound any better than 9 volts does. In some cases it sounds worse to me (Wampler PlexiDrive Plus). It'll make the overdrive harsher, and less pleasant to my ear. The only time I've noticed a benefit from the higher voltage is with a clean or nearly clean boost, and then I think I can sometimes hear a cleaner signal with more room for the transients at the edge of the note's envelope.
Anyone else notice this, or am I out there in geek-land?

I like the ocd run at higher voltage. I haven’t tried the full drive higher yet. I didn’t like the POT at higher voltage for how I use it; turned it into a very clean boost. That pedal had the largest change from what I can tell.

The only pedal I run at 18v is the Cali76 compressor. All OD's I use are at 9v.

I’ve run my fulldrive at 18 but went back to 9. As Fulltone says, at 18 it’s more “amp like” which means to me it’s less of an OD pedal and more of a boost. Ultimately I wanted the pedal to bring the dirt not just boost the amp (the FD has the boost side as well which I love).

I like my Tim at 18 volts but I use it for only mild overdrive. As a rule I like the rest at 9 volts and some I can't tell the difference.

Definitely depends on the circuit. I like the KODA at 12V better than 9V. I really liked it at 18V but the circuit is not rated that high so back to 12V. Also like the Topanga reverb better at 18V.

I don't go for the full 18 V (it's a little much) but I do run my Barber overdrives and my OCD at 12 V... opens 'em up a little.

I currently run my ocd at 18volts but it does seem a little over the top with how loud it gets. I keep the volume pretty tamed compared to when it’s running on 9 volts. I should pull it off the board again and A/B the two.

Another ocd user at 18 volts. I have the gain at 0 and the volume to unity for very light touch sensitive boosts drive sound. Sorry bad with words

It seems the OD pedals take on a harder quality (that I don't like) when the voltage is upped. The exception was a Timmy that I use mostly as a clean boost and at that, I wound up setting it to 12 volts. When I have a compressor (Diamond) on my board, it seems to like the extra voltage, but again, it is a clean thing.
