I'm going to buy a new app in September, and right now I'm leaning heavily towards a maz 18 nr. I'm going to use it mostly for home playing and recording, and from what I've read it sounds like a brake Lite might not be enough, and I may prefer an airbrake.
I love the simplicity though of the brake light installed inside the combo cab. has anybody tried to fit a full airbrake inside the Maz combo cab? I figure I could secure it was something like 3M command strips, but not having either, I have no idea if it would even fit.

The Brake Lite should totally be enough for the MAZ 18... it's rated up to 45 watts, conservatively.
The difference that you'd get with the Air Brake over the Brake Lite is the "bedroom" setting. However, if you're getting a new MAZ Jr. (or, you can even have Doc mod an older one), the updated "master volume" is so good that you might not even need an attenuator at all. Really--the new layout is that good.

I gig all the time with a Maz 18 combo with a Brake Lite and it works great with no issues. I rarely go past two clicks but at its maximum attenuation it is playable at bedroom levels but you just don't get that sweet tone you get from a cranked Maz. To my ears, the sweet spot on the Maz starts when both volumes are at least 12:00 and the speaker is screaming

I sold my Brake-Lite when I got a Maz 18 MKII. The master volume is that good.
