Canadian content: JS Moore pickups. A bit overwound. Jon has done humbuckers for me as well. Great guy and great PUs. www.tonefordays.com

I have a set of Ron Ellis 50/60’s with a Hot bridge in my EJ Strat and a set of Ellis 64’s in my ‘63 RI Strat. Both have ended my search for Strat pickups. However, with a 2 year wait & pay first, they are not for everyone. Another vote for the Lollar Dirty Blonde Set for readily available sets. For Tele, I enjoy the aNaLoG.MaN/Fralin “Big T” set. Ended my search there too. *While the Ellis’ ended my Strat pickup search, the new Throbak Strat sets are intriguing* I also have a 50/60's set - that I lucked in to. I agree, paying up front and waiting 2 years isn't for everyone. I highly recommend anyone looking for that type of pickup to check out the Suhr ML Classics. They are very close and you can have them right away. I also have the ML standards which are also great but just a little spicier. I'd also like to try the Throbaks or at least hear some more demos!

Lollar (non) dirty Blondes. The Blackface set is nice also but if I had to choose one set for my only strat, it would be the Blondes. (I have both). For a Tele, the Route 66's that Joe Riggio winds for his Tangos are the best I've had but I have not tried nearly as many tele pups as I have strat pups over the years. For non conventional tele, the Lollar Charlie Christians are wonderful.
Honorable mention to the Fender pups that they put in the 2011\12 CS 60's strats. Those were as close to the grey bottoms in my 64 that I've ever heard. Unfortunately, I don't think they ever sold them as stand alone sets.

Howdy,
P-90s for me. I love the Duncan set of "Vintage Soapbars" in my Gibson LP Special; great fit with my Ghia.
