So I’m really shooting for a Les Paul, probably the Traditional 2018 in honey burst. I played a Les Paul live about 20 years ago for two songs, one of those being Johnny B Goode lol. All that I remember is that I felt great playing it, although the amp was horrible.
I need to know how a Les Paul will act with my Therapy. My Teles love the Therapy. I like my Therapy with a Gold and a Creamback 65 cab.

I almost exclusively use the Therapy with humbuckers when playing out. The other guitar player in the band uses single coils. Generally it's a PRS, but I have used Les Pauls and love the Therapy with them. My settings start at Bass 9:00, Mids 1:00, Treble 1:00, Volume 1:00, Master between 11:00 and 2:00,depending on the venue, then I tweak from there. Playing with the volume and tone controls on the guitar will give you a big range of sounds at those settings. I also run a bunch of pedals into it at those settings and they all sound good to me. I think you will be pleased with it. Oh, I generally run a Texas Heat or Cannibus Rex with it. I prefer it with an American voiced speaker. I have run a creamback and liked it. I am not a Gold guy, so my comments with it would be more of a reflection on the speaker than the amp. Only thing I have liked a gold with is a Ghia.

In run singles and buckers on mine. Bass at 11’ish, mids and treble at 3’ish. Master at 3’ish and Vol at 9-10 (brakelite on a couple clicks) - these are all “clock face” settings. It’s set as my “fat clean” amp.
I too play a PRS (McCarty) along with a Godin with Seymour Duncan’s, an epi LP (with Z90s), a couple strats (one with Fralins and one with EMG Gilmour), and an ASAT.
All love the Therapy and candidly I don’t have to fiddle with the tone controls when switching guitars. Each guitar brings its “flavor” to the amp. With the tone controls set where they are the amp is not dark with the buckers and not too bright with the single coils - and I can actually use the guitars’ tone controls to adjust the top end.
I run through a 2x12 with a V30 and G12H30 (ZBest combination).

My son is playing his Les Paul Studio through my Therapy as I type this.
Its fat and tight. Sustain is amazing and chords are crunchy but you can hear every note. Sounds killer!!!!

Therapy with a Les Paul and a PRS McCarty for me. Thick and Juicy, clean and crunchy. Really great with V30's but it can be a bit loud. Lately I've been using a Dr Z 2-10 convertible with the Z speakers and I really like the tone with that combination. I play in a band that plays country and classic rock covers.

My therapy likes my PRS with the 57/08 humbuckers through it. are you using 6L6 tubes? Yep, still 6L6. I. The 6L6 thing was a big factor when buying the Therapy. I’m sure it sounds great with other tubes but I have no desire to change. Now if going from a Tele to a Paul dictates a change in tubes I may consider it. I really love that midrange rich tone of the Les Paul bridge pickup with a bit of overdrive to go with it.

A Les Paul into a Therapy with EL34s is mighty fine!

It was a Les Paul through my Therapy that impressed my buddy to try to form a new band, so that sound will get peoples’ attention.
It will really rock out!

I love my Les Pauls through the Therapy. I have two Historics and a Classic and they all sound great - all with different model pickups in them at different outputs.
I generally run the Therapy pretty clean though. Maybe just an edge of grit but I tend to use my pedalboard for the main dirt tones. That's just how I've always done it and continued to do it even after I got the Therapy. It's a very Tweedy sounding amp to my ears. Big fat thick tone and pretty midrangey. I love it.
I love every guitar I've put through that amp. Single coils, humbuckers, doesn't matter. Both low output and medium/high output pickups too.
I use a Creamback 65 in a 112. Sounds killer. I think the Creamback 65 is the most perfect for that amp. It's a very dark brooding sort of sound I just love. I have a lot of old Silverface Fenders which are bright, so I've got the bases covered.

I mainly use PRS with humbuckers with my Therapy, but once in a while break out a Les paul. I recently started using a 5751 preamp tube after comparing about a dozen or so tubes. Also use a Celestion gold ... Amp sound great!

I recently started using a 5751 preamp tube after comparing about a dozen or so tubes. And what result does this give it? less early breakup?
