Don't know if this is possible (or good) with a tube amp, but I'm talking to some guys in a "no stage volume" project. Everything thru the board and in-ears. (even e drums) Can I go out of the "send" socket into the board?? WHat would it sound like? (Have a JAZ, LUX, MAZ (8 and 18) and MVRemedy - would any of those be better than the others?)
I know this is easier with solid state, but I've always hated those....
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much DickieG Tampa

i used to go from rack preamps to a board for recording, but had to use a cabinet simulator box to emulate a mic'd up speaker, otherwise the sound was bad. i used a small hughes & kettner "red box" for that.
i have used fx send to drive other guitar amp heads w/o anything in between, but straight to a board, you might need a cabinet simulator in between.

Definitely look into the cab simulators. I’m liking the impulse responses where you have some options with two note and mooer audio. Universal Audio has a $1300 box that looks real good. (Mooer is $148). Don’t forget you’ll need a load too.
I haven’t used the above in a band situation yet.
Another option is an isocab. I have used an isocab for the last 10 years or so for recording. They’re not completely quiet.

Hard to do well with a tube amp, which is why projects like the Kemper have gotten some traction in the last few years. But if you do the cab sim you can get pretty close.

You might want to look into the Fryette Power Load. It can do cabinet sounds as well as going direct.

Or a Weber Mass attenuator with a DI out. I’ve used those exactly this way with very good results at a fraction of the cost of re-amps (power station) or iso cabs. And easily transportable 👍

And easily transportable 👍 also, just coming out of a pre-amp send, you won't get any mojo the power section gives you. if you can get an attenuator or device with a DI out after the power section, that might be worth considering, as daddyelmis suggests.

The mini mass is the reactive load attenuator with a direct out, and the load dump is the passive resistive load with a direct out. I’ve used both with excellent results to go straight to the board or recording interface. I also use Brakelites currently for pure attenuation for live work (no DI). www.tedweber.com/gadgets/attenuators
