I'm not a fan of them. Last night had a gig and used a pair I had pulled from my Ghia, because they were getting squishy, in another amp. They bought the farm mid-show. The bad one had a beautiful purple, orange white glow like a well lit ember and nifty lightning inside the bottle while yielding no sound. I'm glad it didn't damage the amp but considering I've only had my Ghia for about 6 months and used it off and on since then I find it pretty sad the tubes didn't last any longer. I've since bought a pair of the Doc's recommended tubes from Perry and will be getting more soon to cover my 84 powered amps. 3K-5K hours per pair is a ton better than the short lived cycle of these modern production valves. It'd be great if some tube makers would get their QA up to spec with the old school builds but then again like lightbulb makers they need to stay in business...

I found them via some googling... I've never done business with them before. They have both the regular 6n14n and the extended life. I ordered the regular ones with the saucer "dealio" per Doc's AMA. www.kcanostubes.com/$38/pair $10 shipping

I've been dealing with Mike at KCA NOS Tubes for 20+ years, both buying and selling. He's a first rate vendor.
