Has anybody been able to get a good fender tone out of the amp?

Well, yes as close to a Fender as an EL84 amp can get. It doesn't compress the same. Just mess with the mids. It will definitely get closer to a Fender than say a Vox.

Welcome to the Forum Elijah! A lot of good information and great people here. One of members (doctorice) has collected a great spreadsheet with various settings for the Maz 18. Here is a link to the page michaelgiliberto.com/uploads/maz18_settings10_4.pdfThanks Mike for putting this together and sharing it!

Here's how I have been running mine lately. Its not as scoopy as my DRRI but just a nice clean, full platform for my Strat and pedals. If you want more blackface dial back the mids. I have a WGS ET65 in my amp and have been plugging into LO input.
approx: vol -1 trb -11 mid - noon bass -11 master - noon cut -11 rvb -11

Scoop the midrange and boost the treble, you'll get close.
