True NOS Current Matched Pair Soviet Era 6P14P-K=6BQ5/EL84, has anyone heard of these, are they safe to put in my Maz18nr? Any results if you used them? Just bought a matched quad off ebay.

The last batch I bought from the Ukraine has a few 6n14n-K's mixed in. They have the Flying Saucer Getter , matched a few up and compared then to standard 6n14's and found no difference in sound.

Thanks Doc; After I bought them, I realized I should have ran it by "the gang" to make sure they were OK to use. Planned on returning them if it was a bad idea. I'll post a follow up on this thread based on what I hear playing through 2 different cabs, single & hum. guitars (in my basement where I can crank it up).

I just received my new to me 2013 maz18nr. Strat & Les paul through hi & lo input, 2 different 1x12 closed cabs 1 bigger, 1 smaller. Both had et-65's. First impression was "hard", no squish, no maz 3d sparkle. Pulled all tubes, deoxit, & replaced w/ used jj preamp that were my used stash, the new 6p14p-k power tubes, & a new gt 5y3 rectifier that was stash. Results; Holy kielbasa!! What a sound. Lush, that maz 3d sparkle, warm, full. Just beautiful. Takeway; Not sure if it's those new 6p14p-k tubes, the new 5y3 rectifier, or the combination of both.
