Anyone use either of these two pedals with your MAZ? I recently came into possession of a new MKII with the intention of creating a small amp and board rig, most often to be used for P&W playing. I love what the amp alone does with my PRS Starla, Veritas Portlander, or teles, and I’m hoping that these pedals would provide a diverse range of gain options.

I use these pedals with my Z-Lux and Z-Plus, both of which share front ends similar to the MAZ. I use the Riverside to give my Zs "channel switching". The Sunset is used like a pair of conventional stomp boxes.
An example may be useful. I have the favorite position on the Riverside set to be fairly bright, with mids down and some bass rolloff. This provides a passable SRV tone. (Also works great for early Beatles tunes with some adjustments to guitar knobs.) Side A of the Sunset is configured for the classic SRV tube screamer: low drive/gain, plenty of volume and tone to taste. I'm all set to play (well, fumble my way through) Pride and Joy. Kick on the Sunset for the solo. Turn off the Riverside and sit back to play clean rhythm on an R&B number. never need to touch the amp.
My bottom-line $0.02: think Riverside as adding channels, Sunset as a batch of stackable boosts/ODs in one box. One caveat: they suck up a lot of juice, so you need ample current in your power supply to the board.
And welcome to Z Talk!

Thanks! I’m loving the cleans now that I’ve discovered how to dial them in. The amp is an absolute beast.
But I’m waffling back and forth between getting the two Strymon pedals or getting some specific pedals like a FullDrive 3, PlimSoul, and Morning Glory. My understanding is that the PlimSoul is close to the 2Stage on the Sunset, and naturally the FullDrive is close to the Texas, and also has a boost stage. The Morning Glory just because.
Anyone else have experience with the Strymon dirt pedals?

doctorice bought his Riverside from me. I'm glad he is finding it useful. I used the pedal also with a MAZ 18 but I just found myself with too many pedals and downsized. I tended to run the Riverside for a higher gain sound. The built in noise gate worked well for that.
