Hry friends, last saturday I was recording my bands new Lp mainly with my antidote through a 1x10 Celestion Vintage g10 which I loved but even though its fairly new (has been my main speaker for the past 2 years) it was making a raucous high pitch noise when playing the 12th fret of my jaguar through an MXR distortion + in a med gain setting. I replaced my z28 1x10 z design speaker for this g10 to make sure it was not the cabinet but it still has that weird pitch vibration. I really liked that combination tone and was aiming at having that sound as the main sound for my new record using the z28 only as a complement for overdubs etc.
I dont like the z design 10 inch speaker for my z28 because the mids sound huge with my rig and the highs are too airy. I am looking for something like the vintage g10 to replace the speaker of my z-28. I would appreciate your recommendations. No alnico please.

Gold ten or a WGS derivative would do it. They have a lot of ceramic choices w enough power to meet the '28s needs. I have used the gold and C/S10 w mine and it sounded great. Their speakers are affordable and reliable.

I've always liked the Red Fang with the Z28. I think they stopped making it though. 10" Greenback sounds real good too. There was a Surf Green 1x10 Z28 at Zest back a few years ago that sounded great with a 10" Greenback in it, loved it!

If you’re not wed to a British style speaker the Jupiter 10LC gets a lot of love.
