I've never given it a second thought. When the gig ends, the amp power is turned off and the pedalboard gets unplugged without any attention to what's on or off. Quite likely at least one OD pedal is on for the final song of the show.

Most of my pedals are in a looper so they are all turned on at the start of the gig. Like Mike, I unplug the entire board as-is at the end, with everything on. Never had an issue.

My board has a power block that feeds the pedals. The block plugs into a power strip and I just turn that off when I’m done.

I have one pedal that must be shut down before power off. The manual says if it is not then the pedal could be damaged at turn on. That is the only pedal I know of with this requirement..... Analog Alien Rumbleseat.

You figure most pedals can be powered by batteries, which are always “on,” so the internal switching shouldn’t care if there’s power at the terminals or not.
