It appears that the Monza has been discontinued but I was able to pick up a new 1x12 with an Alnico Cream last week. I like the amp/speaker combination, this is my first Dr. Z after having looked at the Maz 8 and Maz 18 for some time, and I favored the Creamback's with those amps. So I ordered a Maz from a guitar shop on Reverb but someone had walked out of the store with it that same morning. Therefore the store offered some alternative options (Monza being one) or a refund and I saw this bad boy, read the forums and determined it might be a match (I prefer OD from my amps and use at least some hair for nearly every song I play). My first thoughts were that this is a 70's rock & blues amp, because its what it excels at IMO and that is right up my alley. But the amp can produce excellent clean tones when you open up the MV, and of course it can cover a broad spectrum of dirty tones at a pretty much unlimited range of volume due to the great MV. Needless to say I was apprehensive to purchase such an expensive piece of gear without trying it out first but no Z's have failed to impress me. It sounds progressively better the louder it gets. Can't wait to take it to stage with the new band. Cheers Alnico Cream - celestion.com/product/151/celestion_cream/

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great people and knowledge here. The Monza is a very deceptive amp. I've got one that came with a 1x10 cab, equipped with a Red Fang speaker. I'd take it to jams and the other guys would look at it and wonder where I hid the 4x12! It's a wonderfully capable amp, you did well for your first Z amp. Watch out though, they are addictive. Ya cain't eat just one...

They pair very nicely together (BG-1400 stacked humbucker, with a push/pull to split) so I saw it fitting to include the tele/esquire in the first photo.

MONZA! I’ve had 3.... not sure why I keep selling them as I can never duplicate the overdrive tone with a pedal. Also it’s a great stereoamp set up companion. Hope you enjoy it for a long time.

I've been on the fence about selling my Monza for a while. The other day I plugged it into a 2x12 open back cab and whoa, baby...What a killer amp. It sounds big in a 1x10 combo, but hook that little rock and roll beast up to a big cab and ya better stand back and get ready to smile.

I had one of the originals long ago without the MV and with the 10" Red Fang. It was cool, but just too damn loud even with the Break lite. Recently bought the new Monza in a head version with the MV and its like a completely different beast. I love it. And as has been mentioned in other threads, if you crank everything you get the absolute best fuzz tone ever. This little amp is more fun than I thought possible. The newer version is definitely Billy in a box. Sorry to see it go out of production, but glad I got one. Mines is staying with me!

(lol) Does this mean you have a MONZA for sale? LOL! Maybe 4th time is the charm...... I accept the things I can not change, like the MONZA being the best overdrive/Fuzz ever made.
