Sorry to bring a topic up that has been discussed before, but it's been a while. The first day I had the Wreck I ran it mostly on Comfort. Day 2 I switched to Speed and thought, "Wow, this is great." Now I'm back to Comfort and thinking it's better! I just tried Speed again and went right back to Comfort. I imagine tomorrow it'll be Speed again. From reading the old posts here (and there's not a lot of new stuff about the Wreck, c'mon guys!) it seems like most like the Comfort setting better. Or do you switch back and forth like I've been doing? I'm sure I'm on a learning curve, but I'm curious if you have settled into one that you always use.

No matter what I select the amp sounds great. So I left it on Speed for 6 months of gigging and just loved it. Then I switch to Comfort....same thing. Now if I was going to send it back to the factory to get the half power mod I'd probably choose to have it on Speed.

I don't have a wreck, but I go back and forth with the Antidote's vintage and modern switch. So I understand the situation. It's a matter of mood at the time. Hence the switch-du-jour.

I use Speed most of the time but I have used comfort for a few gigs as well. The secret is to switch it before you play the amp for the day as your ears will play tricks on you. I also use a Fryette Power Station with the Wreck so I can take the beast and not get kicked out of the band for playing too loud.

I switched from Speed to Comfort often when i first got the Quantum Silver set. Loved them both, with single coils and with humbuckers. After a few weeks, I sent the head to Dr. Z and had the half power mod installed. I chose Comfort as my permanent setting.
What made me arrive at that choice was... when i played on speed, i always used a compressor and a tiny bit of reverb to arrive at my desired sound. However, when i played on the comfort setting, the notes bloomed so beautifully, and sounded so lively and 3-dimensional that i found no desire what-so-ever to use ANY pedals with it. It simply didn't feel necessary.
I have never regretted the decision, and have since sold my Keeley Comp Plus, Neunaber Immerse, Mesa flux Drive and a variety of Wampler pedals. I own zero pedals now (handful of lonely patch cables lying around though lol).
I run my tele thru a lava cable and into the amp (w/brake-lite) and nothing else. I couldn't be happier.
Don
