Just picked up a Z-Lux a few days back. Ive had most of the Z amps, and a nice collection of fender brown and blackface amps, so I have a lot to compare it to. I have to say that the Z-Lux is the most articulate amp Ive ever played, its clear, crisp, and the controls are really nice. The controls are subtle, like the reverb, its splashy all the way up and very subtle at 9am......not like the fender reverbs that go to 90% at 9am, its more control.
Gigging it tonight with a blackface bassman, so I'll get a good comparison. The bassman is darker and not as articulate but it does grind nicely!

Congrats! Reverb, Tremolo, switchable wattage, expressive EQ......sounds like a great amp!

Congratulations. It really is all you say. It is a great amp and impossible to get a bad tone out of. Enjoy it.

I gigged mine at church this morning and got lots of compliments. It's a great sounding amp, fat...sassy...soulful.

I just sent my baffle for Z-Wreck cloth, so mine is in pieces at present. I’m ready to get it back and it’s only been a week!

As I've mentioned before, I've been gigging in and around Austin for about 20 years now, and the Z-Lux is the best club amp I've ever owned. I was a Vibro King guy for many years, but those things are loud enough to sterilize a cat from 100 yards away. My '66 Super is absolutely killer, but it weighs about 2 tons. The Z-Lux does nearly everything those other two amps do, is of a reasonable volume, more flexible, and 2/3rds the weight.

The Lux is the finest amp ever made - that is unless Doc’s made something better and hasn’t unveiled it yet. You’ll love it!

I have to say that the Z-Lux is the most articulate amp Ive ever played, You probably have only one vintage Fender amp that can compare to the Z-Lux, and that's the Brown '62 Vibrolux I sold you years ago....(Missed it so badly, I had to go buy another (a '61). I too think the Z-Lux is definitely the best amp produced in the last 50+ years.... The late '50s tweed 4x10 Bassman amps and the Brown vibroluxes of the early 60's are the only amps that I like as well as the Z-Lux....

What's your verdict on the Z-lux?
