I just wanted to know how durable the maz18 head is and how many of you use one for church.

I used a Maz 18 2x10 combo at church for a long time (2 years). Like all of the Z amps, they are very reliable. Only issue I have ever had was related to a tube going bad and in my case there was ample warning to replace it. The Maz amps are really good at church because they cut thru a mix very well without requiring you to be blaring loud. My 2cents, God bless, Todd

You could pretty much shoot them out of a cannon and they'd still work just fine. Built like tanks.

Welcome to the forum! As Todd mentioned, other than tubes you should not have any "reliability" issues with ANY of the Doc's amps. As far as cannons go - well....Use with confidence, and watch this video!

Welcome to the forum, I used my Maz 18NR combo at church on Sunday and it was great. As far as durability, like others said the only trouble I've ever had was tube related. Doc builds his amps to be gigged for a lifetime, then passed down to your kids.

Ditto here as well. I have head on top of an iso cab for the 1 x 12 cab and the Z-12 speaker. As others have posted, cuts thru the mix, has the chime that worship music has and with the updated master and effects loop, the delay and reverb really shines; provided you don't have too far to run cables. VERY RELIABLE. no issues other than one tube fizzing out. Playing 2x a month for 7 yrs now. Pull the trigger. you'll love it.

I bought my used Maz Jr in 2009...it was a couple years old at that point. Has never ever failed me once and I gig regularly! Great amp from an incredible manufacturer!

Not quite as rowdy as "church," but I drug a Maz Jr thru a lot of rough beer joints in south Texas for a coupla years in the early 2000's. It was almost as tough of a gig as I now face on Sunday mornings... The Maz is a TANK!

What Lee said.
Amps don't generally come any more reliable.

I took my MAZ 18 Jr NR on tour for 3 years doing the US & Canada twice, UK & EU once and Australia & NZ once each year. The closest I ever came to a problem was a power tube came loose one time. But, I never got it inside a church

I echo the durability of the above claims. My '03 2x10 is still in my possession and going strong. Never has seen a day in the shop. I have only ever had to change tubes. How do you say RELIABLE.

I’ve always used a Maz 8 at Church. I’ve never had a problem.

I bought my '05 Maz Sr head about 10 years ago. Since then it's done several hundred gigs with me without a hint of any problem. Like others here all I've done is change tubes regularly, and it's never failed to deliver. It's taken more of a back seat since I got my Jr head last year, but I don't doubt that both amps will keep going long after I've hung up my strap. These amps' durability is beyond question. They sound pretty darned good too!
