Bought an Albert Lee Music Man Ernie Ball guitar. Awesome playability. Great one piece rosewood neck. Super light and resonant. Took the entire electronics including a 5 way switch plus the custom Dimarzio Humbuckers out of its system. Installed a pair of Lindy Fralins Twangmasters with 8200 turns for the neck plus 9000 turns for the bridge. My numbers are right between Lollards recommendations for vintage or blues. I prefer underwound pick ups but for this one went for something warmer. Still super single coil attack. 3 way switch and the tone knob is wired in a way that pronounces mids instead of making the sound darker. Named it: The Tone Machine or La Maquina in Spanish. Simply the machine. ibb.co/dKC2ycibb.co/fzjFJcibb.co/bXxrrxibb.co/jmaNyc

I don't particularly care for the Albert Lee body style, but this setup and appearance has changed my mind!

I don't particularly care for the Albert Lee body style, but this setup and appearance has changed my mind! You need to play one for a couple of hours. You will totally forget all about the shape! The ergonomics are quite impressive and the EBMM neck - well - their whole line up of necks is great (the more modern JP stuff is too flat for me - but even the original JP6 is excellent - but I digress!). I have had a few Albert Lees over the years (still have 1 that I cobbled together out of 2). The RW neck is really something special as well. Try one some time with a figurative blindfold on and give it a fair shake - you may come away surprised! (Also applies to the St. Vincent model - thing is ludicrously well balanced and has some unique tones - especially the 3 mini HB version!). : (steps off soapbox) :

Still a huge EBMM fan ... my go-to guitar is an Axis Super Sport w/humbuckers, maple neck and whammy bar
Congrats on the Albert Lee ... fun guitar ..... plenty of possibilities
And, looking forward to your continued updates regarding tones get and tunes you play with the new configuration
cheers always
