I bought a Therapy today! I was working over in Montgomery, AL and popped into Elite Music for the first time ever. Those were some great guys and they had this Therapy.
I've not been able to really explore it yet, but it cranks! I've only put it through my Cure speaker, but will go upstairs this weekend to pull out my cab that has the V30 in it. My prized Tele likes it and my Les Paul likes it!
Pics to follow tomorrow. It has one of Harvey's valances on it!

Glad you like yours, I've been using my Therapy for my main gigging amp for a couple of years now. V30 is great with the Therapy. I recently purchased a Dr Z 2-10 convertible cabinet with Z speakers and am interested to see how that goes. I honestly can't tell until I get the rig out of my basement if I like a speaker matchup or not.

Sweet. I really love the therapy- it’s been my clean amp with the Z28 for dirt. I put KT77s in it a few months ago and really like those for “gutsy clean.”

I played it a little more last night through the Z speaker. It has very smooth drive. It's pretty touch sensitive as well. I think I read on this Therapy forum that the touch sensitivity is similar to the Z Wreck. I'll explore it more over the weekend.

Yes, it's really responsive to pick attack and dynamics, one of the best aspects of the Therapy.

Confession! When the Therapy came out, I was all in on Doc's EL84 amps (Maz, Ghia, and Monza). I just didn't give the Therapy a fair shake. I told myself that it would be too loud and the Master wouldn't work as well and nothing could be as good as my EL84 amps, PERIOD! That started to change when I got the Cure last year. And now that I have this Therapy, I see just how wrong and amp snobbish I really was. The Master is really great on this amp! So, that "loud" part that I convinced myself to be a "non-starter" really isn't an issue at all. I've not had anything like this amp. I mean it's touch sensitive and you can really hear the bloom! And, I've only just begun! I'll get the cab with the Vintage 30 tomorrow and check that out, but I'm diggin' it with the Z 12. Below is a Twitter pic.

I’ve missed my Therapy...it has a big broad sound that expands as it gets louder instead of compress like the EL84 amps....but I also miss my Ghia and MONZA. The Therapy has and extremely wide EQ adjustment available.....
Yours looks great with that valence. I thought I wanted American tones when I sold my EL84 amps for Therapy and I thought I wanted less watts when I went from Therapy to Cure. Now I know I was wrong...I want them all. It’s easy to think we know “our” sound....Dr Z has opened my ears up to so many tones I never thought I would like or rely on.
What a great amp company. Enjoy your Therapy ....the Cure is like a smaller greasy Therapy.

I love the way yours looks with that valence too! My Therapy is getting the call for Praise Band tomorrow. It's a great amp, mine's red with one of Harvey's valences. He posted a pic of mine in the photos section somewhere, I really dig his work. He makes a piece of wood look 3d. Glad you're digging the Therapy, I think you'll like it even more with the V30. I recently switched over to a Celestion Gold and I really love that combination.

Russell, I see you've got a couple of other Z combos...something that I really have fun doing when I feel like setting up a big rig is to take my Therapy and set it on top of my Z-Lux combo, and use my Radial Tonebone Head Switcher to switch between the Therapy head and the Z-Lux. That way I only need one speaker, and I can set the Therapy up for balls out rock tone and the Z-Lux for sweeter stuff. It's fun!

I first thought about my Ghia and Monza, but now I'm digging the Cure and this Therapy. Since I'm bandless at the moment, I have some time to put together a rig.

The Ghia and Monza are a perfect pairing....the Monza complements the Therapy to, especially as a lead amp. Therapy and Cure are similar sounding and the boost and effects loop on the Cure might make it a great lead amp in the pairing. Finding the right speakers in a stereo set up was a bit hard for me but important in tuning the amps for matching tonal differences.

Congrats and welcome to the "therapy" session! ( the "middle" control is NOT like your "normal" middle control on any other amp. just keep turning it UP, you'll be suprised!)

I got my cab that has the V30 in it. The upper mids stand out. It probably wasn't a good comparison because the V30 in is a closed back cab and the Z12 in a open back (Cure). I thought the percussive nature of the amp came out more in that Z12, but, again, it's probably the difference between the open and closed back. The overdrive really sounded great through the V30. I guess need something that does both! lol Can any of you who have used the V30 and Gold speak to which one is more percussive? My gut tells me the Gold, but of couse, I have no idea.
