So heres the set up. Got called for a pickup gig with a band I'd never played with. Setlist was outlaw country stuff. Hank, waylon ect.
So I set my board up for that kind of gig and planned on running the Cure the fedex guy just dropped off clean. Twang for days with my Tele. good stuff.
However right before the first tune the band leader leans over and says hey man. Just rock out on everything.
So I quickly grabbed my p-90 Les Paul turned the amp on 10 and was blow away. Literally lol has to crank that level back down.
Spent the rest of the night just using my vol knob to clean up and using a little delay and on occasion a phaser.
Even wide open I could go from a great southern rock sound to a bit o hair clean.
Cranked it reminds me a little of a tweed but without a saggy bottom. Altho at one point I slammed it with a clean boost and sent it into Neil Young territory. I usually have to send time with an amp before I get the goods but this little guy is idiot proof. Can't make it sound bad.
Really a crazy amp. Not a one trick pony to be sure. Haven't been this happy with an amp right out of the box in ages.
Its a keeper.

I gigged the Cure a couple days after it arrived. Like your experience, I found it fit right in without any hassles.

Yep, I've got a few nice Z amps and the Cure is one of my favorites. So useful in all situations.

The day after that first gig I did an outdoor thing at a river bar. Different band and way different acoustics. Got rave reviews from the guys and they asked I use the same rig next time. Didn't even bother with a pedalboard. Guitar, clip on tuner and a chord. The thing takes on a nice singing quality at gig lv, didn't feel the need for even a delay pedal and I never play without delay.

I'll be bringing my cure to practice next week. Interested to see how it will compare to my maz18. The maz is just too heavy for me these days. The cure is nearly as light as my blues junior. Any settings tips for practicing with the band?

Set the tone controls with your ears, not your eyes. It's hard to get a bad tone out of this baby. Love mine...

My Cure has pushed all my other amps into storage. It's the only one I've used live since it arrived (although I'm thinking about using the Wreck the next couple of gigs).
