Please comment if you have this combination. A M12 head with a Dr Z 1x12 convertible cab loaded with a Doc's Z12 speaker. I'm considering ordering this cab and speaker combination and would truly appreciate any comments. Like/Dislikes....etc.

I did have that exact combination--M12 head and Z-cab w/ Z12. It sounded great--perfect for home playing or small gigs. The M12 is a great, extremely versatile "blank slate" type of amp. It also interacts beautifully with all of your favorite dirt pedals. For the current end-of-run price, it's an incredible bargain, IMO.

Thanks for the review...I was hoping I would get that type of feedback. I have plethora of pedals to go with the M12, just wondering how this speaker matched up. Sounds like you are sold on that combination.

FlexLux...did you like it better open or closed back?

Open--I've never liked a closed back cab. They always sound kind of suffocated to me.

I've never had an M12, but I do own the cab in question. The Z 1x12 convertible cab w a Z12 speaker sounds great with a lot of my Z amps. The only reason I changed it to the current V30 is that I primarily run that cab with my Therapy and the Vintage 30 is a great match for the Therapy. I just ordered a 12" Gold because I'm getting a 30th Anniversary Mazerati in June, and want to run it with both amps. The V30 I have never liked EXCEPT with the Therapy. I bet that the combination you're looking at will sound terrific.
