Seems the Ghia folks are always talking about how they love the Ghia in the 1x10 configuration. I even used to have one and loved it with a Greenback 10 and also a Red Fang 10...not just the portability but also the tone. I love the sound of those single 10" speakers, especially with my Mini Z.
It occurs to me that I should try running my Maz into a single 10" to see how it sounds. I have a 1x10 cabinet to test them easily with. If I like it, I actually have one of those 12" to 10" adapter rings from Mojo if I wanted to put it in the combo cabinet.
I'm going to try it! It will be a few days before I'm able to play with any volume, so in the meantime I'm curious if anyone else has tried it and liked it.
I have had a 12" heritage greenback in my Maz 18 for years. I love the lower efficiency. Occasionally I consider putting the G12H30 back in for more volume and clean headroom, but I never end up doing it.
I could REALLY get some volume with that Red Fang 10" in there!

Its really odd that my ghia 110 has punch and potency that it does...defies what its constraints would mathematicly figure...so I dig your question...yeah I think fwiw it would be a nice little game changer if you found perfect (cab/10") combo to pull this off.

Great question - I've been gigging in a four piece rock/blues cover band (bass, guitars, drums) for the last six months with a Max 18 nr head and a single 1x10 Mesa Lone star cab. Some is stock Eminence Black Shadow. The sound is huge, more that use expect from this rig. No prob in 100-150 people venues. Used to gig a DRRI and a few pedals ora Pro Sonic - the Maz and 1x10 delivers just as well. One tip - you need a good cab, decent speaker and get it off the floor.

How many people would even have ever tried a Ghia or Z28 with a 10" if that little combo cab wasn't so cool?

Yes I loved my Ghia 1x10 and my Mini Z will go to my grave with me.
Looking forward to giving the Maz a test run with single 10s...will report back when I'm able to properly turn up!

Just after I acquired a Weber 10F150T for my Silverface Fender Princeton Reverb I patched a cable from it over to my other amps, including my MAZ 8. After I tamed the highs down a little it was wonderful.
