You are correct sir. Opened up the back and one of the 6V6 had no glow. Replaced with another JJ I had and problem solved. How important is tube matching? Thanks for the timely reply.

If you hear NO hum at Idle, the tubes are matched close enough.

EDIT" 3/2 Well, that lasted one day. Fuse blew again today when coming off standby. Tried a second fuse to see what I could see in the tubes, all seemed to have normal glow, then when I come off standby, fuse blows immediately. I am not the original owner so I guess I need a tech on a one year old amp... Rectifier tube is Sovtek; is that original?

Before considering a technician, replace both power tubes with a matched set and the rectifier. You’ll be glad you did, as you should always do this when buying used.

All the tubes are JJ except the rectifier which is Sovtek; Was the Sovtek stock?

All the tubes are JJ except the rectifier which is Sovtek; Was the Sovtek stock? My Cure came new with a stock Sovtek 5ar4 rectifier, and I believe that's normal.

From the Dr Z site:
Cure V1: JJ ECC83, V2: JJ ECC83, V3: JJ ECC81, V4/5: JJ 6V6 (matched pair), V6: Sovtek 5AR4
Recommended Bias Point: Cathode Biased (no re-biasing necessary)
