I have pretty much settled in on leaving the Master vol up all the way, setting my drive with Volume, and output with Level. I'm curious if anybody is running their Master down low, and if so what does it do for you? I like my amp set up "On the edge" and this is the way it seems to work best. I push it with various OD pedals or distortions. What say you, after owning it for several months? How do you set up the Vol, Master, and Level controls?

Generally, volume half, master full, and level to room.
For clean, master and level full, and volume to room.
For dirt, volume and master full and level to room.

I’ve been running the master at 3:00 and the volume to taste.

I do mine exactly the way you describe Dave but I generally like things a little on the cleaner side. Having said that, it doesn't take too much from the Volume control for things to start sounding pretty good when you have the power tubes cooking with the Master wide open. Play around with it and see but what you're doing works for me.

Dave, Another vote here for master wide open. I run volume around 3:00 and level to suit the room.Does someone have a good explanation of exactly what the master and level controls do? I'd love to hear it! Seems like the lower master levels give the amp a more American voice, master wide open almost approaches british tones.

Volume at noon and the Master at 3:00. You definitely need to get the Master up to let this amp breath. I use OD's to add just a bit of drive and color.

In the short time I have had mine . I noticed when I put the master and Volume both around 10:00 AM:) and crank the level wide open . I can get a really clean tone. Otherwise Volume at 9-10 Master 3-6 and level to taste : Diming the Eq also seems to add O-Driven tube sound (To taste depending on what I am playing)

I used my Firebird last weekend, and I know you love your 'bird Dave!
I run mine with Master wide open, Volume at 11 and Level to room (usually around noon. I put in a more efficient speaker to gain some headroom). These settings get the 'bird to edge of breakup. For more drive I'll add a Boss/Keeley BD-2 or J Rockett Rockaway.
This rig covers everything my 8pc band (w horns) plays. Love it!

Currently I prefer the master about half way up and the volume 2 or 3 o'clock, which gives me some breakup but not too much, still smooth. I find that with the master all the way up things get a bit too trebly and buzzy, which is great for some but I prefer to have the amp on the edge then push it with a pedal, currently KOT, OCD or Tumnus, all three are on my board. Works for me right now, but as we all know things can change!

With the amp as my main dirt, I max the master and use the level to set my overall volume. I have to say, I haven't found a pedal that I like better than the amp for overdrive.
