I have been gigging the Cure for several months now and it has been killing it! But I never play in a quiet spot and just listen to the amp. And in a live situation I am wearing hearing protection and I have all of the other instruments contributing to the noise so I miss out on all of the wonderful nuance the amp provides.
Finally, yesterday I felt the need to play through an amp at home so I hooked up the Cure and plugged straight in. It was so cool; I got funk tones, jazz box tones, compressed country tones all while using one guitar and just manipulating the volume and tone. It reminded me of why I bought the amp but now that the speaker is broken in, I am happier than ever with this amp. It is really cool and versatile. And again, I feel like I am playing the instrument and not the amp. The guitar actually speaks through the amp not vice versa.

I found a 67' patent sticker humbucker and an old duncan jazz from the 70's or 80's in my parts drawer yesterday and put them in my les paul and my cure was sounding so clear and articulate! I freakin love this amp and haven't found a guitar that it can't handle. Try that with your fenders! Neck humbuckers usually turn them to mud
