Had an opportunity to grab a Therapy recently. I wasn't really looking for one, but I couldn't resist.
It's quite different than any other Z I've owned. Very cool. I'm not thrilled with the sounds I'm getting from my LP with buckers, but the single coil Strat and Tele sound AMAZING! My favorite guitar through this amp is easily the Tele. So spanky, and FULL! The Therapy really does so many different things well.
That said, I don't think it's THE amp for me. If I could afford it, I'd definitely keep it - even if just for that awesome Tele sound. But my Z-Lux covers most everything I need, and I really NEED to grab a Maz 38.
So, I'm super glad to have had the opportunity to try a Therapy. It's truly a special amp. I guess I just miss that Maz 38 thing.
What specifically didn't you guys like about the therapy w/a LP?
"Well it's too late, tonight, to bring the past out into the light" (u2)
"well the last man standing get's to walk on the graves" (m.stanley)
"I have stopped instead of started,
and i have watched my children grow,
stood by graves of friends departed,
and found out just how much I do not know" (m.stanley)
Hard to put my finger on it. I just couldn’t seem to dial in a setting that sounded good. When I finally got a decent LP sound with the neck pickup for example, it didn’t sound good at all on the bridge pickup. Idk. I don’t have this issue with my Lux at all. Now with the Tele or Strat, the Therapy is easy for me to dial in. My Tele has never sounded so good as it does through the Therapy.
I just think I’m missing the EL84 Maz thing. (Or maybe even a Wreck).
Jaguarguy (Mike): Hey Gary - Joe Walsh used a G12 65 in his Galaxie and it sounds great!

GuitarZ: So, I cranked up the privacy protection on my browsers, facebook, etc. I have to say I miss the music ads and such. I really don't need ads for watches and other random stuff. Maybe the internet knowing me isn't such a bad thing.

GuitarZ: Reminds me of buying my Honda. When they tried to sell me the maintenance package, I said "Is your car not reliable?" Long story short my wife teamed up with the sales lady to buy the maint package. Never again!
