So does it sound better with a strat,tele,335 or P90's.........? This is just too good! I can't believe no one has bought the one on ebay yet. Hope to have a good answer on that later this week ... am hopin' to play-out on Thursday Personally, I have found my Strat and LP (both loaded with Duncan pick-ups) are good and think my Super Sports (dual Dimarzio 'buckers - one maple 'board and one rosewood 'board) are really good with the Galaxie ... Just a quick follow-up: took my Super Sport with me last nite and used RC and AC Boosts on the first couple of songs .... very, very nice ;D ;D then, next couple of songs split time between channel 1 and channel 2 .... and all I can say is: sweeeeeee-t! ;D Also tried a PRS Cu 22 and a Tele. Everything sounded good. I like the Galaxie. I like it alot. I really like it. I reallly, reallly, realllly like it ;D ;D ;D cheers, eh Joel p.s. both volumes @ 11:30, Treble @ 1:00, Bass @ 1:30 and Presence @ 9:30 .... works for me ... ymmv, etc. etc. etc.

The Galaxie is amazing, isn't it?!! I got to play mine at a jam last night - which I've done a lot. But this time I got up and played with a good friend of mine who plays through a Maz Sr - we had a 2Z attack going We did like 8 tunes and had a blast - tone was killer. I didn't use any pedals, he had an OCD and a Clyde wah... that was my first time on stage with another Z player, I could get used to it!

So do you Galaxie owners prefer triode or pentode mode and what is your favourite speaker? Is anyone using or has anyone tried a Weber 12a125/12a150? I have a 30 watt model that I'm looking forward to trying the Galaxie with when it arrives here. Ive also got the opportunity to run it into my buddies 15' weber alnico that he has in his 63' Vibroverb which might be interesting as well.

Triode's kind of "large curd" versus pentode's smoother custard. They each have their place. I tend to prefer triode, but a friend who's played the amp preferred the pentode and the cleaner settings.
I've have settled on a Weber alnico 1265 pre-rola as my speaker of choice. I liked it better than the 50W alnico Blue Dog with this amp.
Just picked up a 4x10, and that's next to be tried with the Galaxie.

Tighter bottom (always preferable ) Sounds great with a Tone Tubby Alnico, also a G12H....I really think it is an amp desighn that works with any speaker and that alone adds versatility, At Z fest the 2x10 combo was AMAZING, two greenies would be sweet, a Gold...2x blues...you get the drift I don't have any 'merican speakers here to try.

Pentode all the way, and I mos' definitely diggin' the Celestion it shipped with. And, I may soon send a cable from the back of my combo out to my 2x10 Z-cab and crank it up and let 'er rip, eh ;D ;D ;D And, I'm thinkin' an old 2x15 Traynor cab may get some consideration too ;D ;D

Well it's not so much the loud I'm after just as long as it sounds good. I'd really love to have a celestion gold with it,that speaker would also work with a few of my other Z's as well. ;D Don't know if you realize where a certain red Galaxie is heading.LMAO

The Tubby's are really nice, @ 97dB they cut enuf output to help, the response is FLAT, real nice with the Galaxie...and every thing else. WONDERFUL with the 'Ray with a 5V4 rec RXJr kills with da tubster too.
