Money is not a concern (I have a bunch of guitars that are soon to be out the door).
I play classic rock primarily...Crowes, Stones, a lot of open-G. I currently have a Helix (which is primarily used as a pedal board or to noodle on amps/cabs I don't normally use when writing), a Katana and a Nolatone Wicked Johnny.
The Katana is really a wonderful amp for its price-point and overall. Still missing something, though I've played around with Boss Tone Central. The Nolatone was originally an alternative sound to the Goodsell Super 17 I used to own. Paul Sanders recommended the Johnny due to its more-compressed overdrive sound, which is a contrast to the openness of the Super 17.
I am looking at the Cure and Z-Plus to satisfy the grab-n-go, straight-in rock player in me. As impressive as the level control is, I have an iron-man mini that attenuates with very to no loss of sound. Not sure which of the Cure or Plus would be more up my alley. They seem to be of the same ilk, to these ears. Don't really have the opportunity to try one so the decision is based off the specs and youtube videos.
Unfortunately I've sold (and regret selling) several Dr. Z amps over the years so I have experience. Had an older version of the 8, 18NR, Monza and Remedy NMV. Eventually will get another Monza since I've never played anything like that beast. I liked the 8 but the Blue in it wasn't to my liking at all, way too bright. The Remedy was just too frigging loud and the 18NR was sold during a moment of extreme gas that beano had no cure for.
Any suggestions or advice is appreciated!

Rarely play live and usually it’s acoustic as support for some singer/songwriter friends of mine I’d love to be in a band again but there is no time for it right now.

If money is not a concern, get the Z Plus. Not a slight to the Cure by any means, but it isn't even really a contest...

I have no experience with the Z-Plus, but I'm pretty impressed by the Cure. Just took it out to an open mic thing last night--first time I've used it on stage--and it was stellar. For the price (and then some), you can't go wrong.

I have both amps, have gigged both, and agree with Frank ^^^ My Z-Plus has a Blue, which I like. It is breaking in, but that takes 20 to 30 hours. Has a brighter sound, and, prior to break in, a brittleness that is not always good. Frank has a Creamback M65, I think. Doc recently said he liked that speaker a lot also, in addition to the stock Z-12 and Blue (upgrade), with the Plus.

I had a Creamback M65 in a convertible cab which I preferred just a tad more, so I swapped 'em. I can see being extremely happy with whatever Z Plus speaker you choose.

I'm a huge fan of the Blue and love it for my Stingray and Stangray. I use a cream back M with my Maz 18 and it does sound pretty great with the Z-plus. The Cure is a GREAT little amp. Lotta bang for your bucks. If $ is not a factor go Z-Plus. If $ is a true non-factor buy both! Play them to the point of breaking in the speakers, then sell the one you don't need. Both amps should sell fast on here right now.

You need both! The two amps are different enough to support my position. If you like the Monza you’ll love the Cure. It has all of the raunch at lower volumes (if needed). And can cop Blackface tones with sufficient headroom, but you’ll have to BYO reverb. Don’t have the Plus yet, but will soon. Very trustworthy opinions on this board of new Plus owners, and all of them are excellent.

Ordered a Z-Plus from Guitar Riot. My middle-age GAS is in full swing right now. I can't afford a sports car so I think there's a Maz 8 and Monza in the near future.
Any recommendations for a complimentary amps to the Z Plus. Say you want three or four amps from Dr. Z. What would you choose and why (and would it cover certain styles, sonic spectrums, etc).
Thanks again.

Wonderful sounding, just enough of a thump before the e string gets farty. Love the touch and dynamics. Very nice American=sounding amp. Love the switch to 7 watts for earlier breakup. Stones sound great through it. Reverb seems a tad too much, imo. After 9 on the dial it's very powerful.
Back in the Z family. Was so happy to hear the Z-voice again I ordered a Remedy for a more British take and an amp to take me into "Southern Harmony and Musical Companion" sonic sphere. My favorite album of all time and just a wonderful sounding album.
Now debating over a Monza or Maz 8, Maz 18... Anyone care to recommend an amp they think is a good companion to the Z-Plus and Remedy?
Man, when I have GAS it's overwhelming...

I'm holding out for the EMS Studio Combo with an Alnico Cream...

Congratulations on the two Z's. I'd say the Monza would cover a lot of tones you have in the Remedy, so I'd go Maz 8 or Maz18. The Maz would fit nice between the Remedy and Z-Plus I think.

Another amp to consider is the Z-28. True, it's 2 x 6V6, but the EF86 in the preamp and the active bass and treble give it a different feel and palette of tones. It can get very loud, though
