I love my M12 for smaller gigs. 12 watts you can actually turn up enough to get the amp working a bit without getting thrown out of the club.
However, I'd really like to run it in stereo with another Z. I've been using my Fuchs ODS Mod, but it's a pretty noisy amp, with a lot of hum and hiss (otherwise sounds like the hammer of the gods), and the good Dr.'s amps are both sweet sounding and super quiet.
I'd like to get something in a similar wattage range, with a contrasting/complimentary-type sound. For this reason, I've ruled out the Z-28 (although you could talk me back into it - same EF86 front end), and I've already had a Maz 18, so I don't think I'd do that again - I'm fickle like that!
So, anybody already doing this? Got a favorite Z you'd like to suggest? Just like muddying the waters? :-)
Thanks!

Oh yes! Considering a Z Plus and a Cure, leaning toward a Z Plus, for some reason not entirely clear to me. Anyone got those?

New to the forum. Have been lurking last couple of weeks since I started trying to choose the right Z. You all know this already, but there is some really good advice and positivity on here, which is absent from many forums even in the niche / boutique guitar and amp space. I hope I can contribute as well as take.
I’m running a wet/ dry rig with a Jackson Ampworks Newcastle 30 head and cab and, currently, a Vox Night Train head and cheap 10” Blackstar cab. Looking to replace it with a 1x12 grab-and-go combo, probably an M12 or a Cure, in the next couple of weeks (unless I give in to a Morgan PR12). Keen to downsize in wattage like many people these days.
I will be equally interested to hear the inputs to this thread, altho I appreciate that requirements for a stereo rig might be a bit different.

I have both a Cure and ZPlus - both are great amps. Depends on how much you want to spend - a bit of a difference there.
The ZPlus has great reverb if you are looking for reverb. The sound is amazing - very 3D and swirling. Great harmonics. 7/15 watts pairs well with the M12. For tone, think Joe Walsh and James Gang.
The 15 watt Cure has a very unique set up with a MV and the "Level" function - can go from bedroom to stage without any issues. Would pair well with M12. For tone, think early ZZ Top rock and roll.
Both are grab and go weight.
Honestly, you can't lose with either.

I don't care about reverb, in that I rarely if ever use it. But the stuff I've heard with the Plus just sounds better than the Cure (not that the Cure sounds bad by any means!). The Plus scratches that tone itch a little better in the demos. $600 better..? I dunno.
Anyone else?

MAZ 8 would work great as a 2nd amp w the M12. Lots of different sounds on tap.

I love my Carmen Ghia alot. Is definitely a different voice than the M12. I used to run two amps together too. At the time it was a Z28 1x10 combo paired with a Monza 1x10 combo. Sounded great, the Z28 was my primary tone and I would switch in and of the Monza with an A/B/Y switch. Fun stuff!! Todd

Lehle P split with an M12 and Tweed Deluxe 5E3. Doesn’t get better than that.

Just for fun....I ran my M12 and RXJR heads in stereo today. So nice. RX through a C blue and alternated the M12 through a Chinese Greenback RI and a G12H30. It’s unbelievable to me how mid honky the M12 sounded in comparison. I know it’s quite balanced though, so it’s probably more so that the RX is just so scooped. Huge lows and highs and scoopy delicious mids.
The two together are fantastic though!!!! Hits all the right frequencies and with great feel. M12 is more forgiving. RX bites a little more.
Ran both mostly clean but I bet they would sound even better with some drives. Ideally I’d just send a Klon or a boost into the RX and all my other real “dirt” through the M12. Will probably try that sometime soon.
I highly recommend that combination if you can find a used RX Jr somewhere.
