Hi folks ! New Cure owner here.... I'd like to start running a closed back 1x12 cabinet without the stock combo speaker. I assume it is ok to disconnect the "internal" jack as long as the "external" jack is taking a load ??

Great thanks folks yeah, it's a winner of an amp
I'm gonna try running my Bogner Cube 1x12 through it (when I get a chance) to see if they pair well together, but any other 1x12 suggestions are welcome.

This is from the Cure manual:
13. External Speaker Jack: Plug in an 8 Ohm external speaker here. Wired in parallel for a 4 Ohm total load.
14. Internal Speaker Jack: Plug in supplied 8 Ohm Z12 speaker in here. Always have a speaker plugged into the
amp when it is powered on. Always match a 8 Ohm speaker with this output jack. This will allow the amp to ...
So if you want to run two 8-ohm speakers, one of which could be the internal Z-12, plug one speaker into each jack. No need for a Y-cable.
This also implies if you want to plug in an 8-ohm speaker and disconnect the internal speaker, you should plug the external speaker into the "internal" jack on the Cure so that the amp is in its "8-ohm load" configuration.

Great thanks. I browsed the manual last week and tucked it away..... I don't remember that part, good to know. This is from the Cure manual: 13. Progress report:
So the Bogner Cube is a little dark when run by itself out of the Cure. Some of the top end sizzle isn't present,
however
it pairs well with the internal speaker and adds a thump that works well together with the Eminence / Z. There's approximately 3db drop in volume due to the load.

Personally, I think the amp sounds better just with the stock internal speaker
