That sure is odd. I don't know try this, plug a short pedal board 1/4 " cord in the Send & Return jack. If the E/F doesn't help, when the amp works plug your guitar into the return and note the volume through the loop. Now when the volume drops plugged into the front , plug into Return. If volume is the same as when it worked fine , then the issue is in the pre-amp, if not it's the output If that doesn't help, next time it does the cut out with lights low in the room inspect your power tubes and see if they are glowing RED. I just purchased a 2016 Maz 18. I've owned a couple older models. After playing for about 15-20 min, the volume cuts out to about 10% or sometimes zero but with a steady hum. I've replaced each tube, starting with 2 different sets of good power tubes, and then went down the line and replaced each preamp tube one at a time with known good tubes. I even replaced the rectifier. Each time I think it's fixed but after 10-15 mins it goes out again. Just like it needs to hit a certain temperature or something to short some component out. Each time after it has cooled down it sounds absolutely perfect until it cuts out again. Please help with any ideas? Did the seller disclose the issue? That’s sounds like a sneaky sale with a problem. my guess is that a capacitor is in failure mode. I’ll be curious to hear what the resolution will be.

Just a guess, but a cold solder joint could be a culprit too. 15 minutes is long enough for components to heat up and have them lose the connection on the bad joint. Cools down and the joint contracts again and you have take off.

Try new fuses also.

So after I took the chassis out and inspected it visually and inspected the fuse and put the fuse back in, I can't get the amp to cut out.I left it on for about 4 hrs last night (on, not standby) and would go in and play every 20 min or so while I was watching the bowl games and it will not duplicate the cutout. I wonder if the fuse was not seated correctly or? I bought it on eBay and the seller seems nice so far. I only have a small window through eBay to get things handled. I don't want to return it, as it is a rare color combo and a great price. Just nervous it might happen again after my inspection window is closed. The amp will love you forever if you fix its glitch.

I wouldn't think it was fuse related since you didn't mention whether the pilot light went out, but that it did hum. If it's humming it's getting power so the fuse is passing current. Strange that removing the fuse made a difference.

No, Doc, that's my old blonde 2002 Maz. This one is a 2016 combo in red with Z Wreck grill cloth.

I've only had the 2016 for less than a week. I was excited to have the newer Maz upgrades, MV, TSB, loop, reverb upgrade, ect
