Hey guys, I've been mulling over a few pedals over the past month and would love to hear your opinions:
My current set up is as follows:
Gretsch/Tele --> Xotic SP Comp --> Timmy --> OCD -->Volume Pedal --> Carbon Copy -->Memory Lane Jr --> Strymon Flint --> Boss tuner --> TC Ditto --> Z-28 1x10 with celestion gold.
I play mostly on sundays in church and we play contemporary christian with a mix of fusiony stuff and hymns. I will also play locally every now and then and just jam at home.
I've been considering a few options:
Analogman Sunface germanium (not sure which transistor yet exactly) - anyone try one with a z-28? After watching a number videos online, they clean up real nice, but can bring some extra filth for fun at home/jams. If I choose this option, I would likely stack it with the timmy and use the timmy primarily as a boost/EQ to add treble to my drives.
Analogman Beano Boost - i've been hearing a ton of great things about this pedal as well. It cleans up well, but adds a lot of character and upper mid/treble sizzle. I would use this before my timmy and ocd to add character to those drives. I usually play the z-28 on more of a clean setting adn get my dirt with my pedals.
Tumnus deluxe - i've always hesitated with klon style pedals with the z-28, but now that I can control the mids, i'm more interested.
Just curious to hear some opinions.

Don't neglect the Z-Drive - a great multiple purpose pedal.

I'm not much fun or help with this, but I love my Tim & Timmy pedal with the Z28 - as a boost or medium gain OD. I have tried the Beano Boost and it wasn't my cup of tea (even though I was after Yardbirds or Rory Galagher tone, not Sunday morning tunes). I also had an Archer (Klon), but I found unless I left it on all the time and tailored my tone settings to it, there was an audible difference when I engaged the pedal as a boost. For my tastes with the band I gig with as well as Sunday mornings, I have found the Timmy (or Tim), the Animal, and Seafoam Lowtide cover everything I may want without a change in amp or guitar tone settings. And this works with both single coil or humbucker guitars. BUT, everyone hears things differently and has their own tastes so enjoy your journey!

It does the low gain thing better than most things I've tried. Curious to see what the beans will do as a boost for both the Timmy and OCD. I've also read some cool stuff stacking the sun face and Timmy

I have loved the EP boost w my '28 but have experimented w several boosts/mild ODs. The most recent boost I've liked and used is the RC boost V2. It has two gain stages w dual pushbuttons for them so you can stack them. It really kicks the amp over the edge. I have also found the Fulltone 2B to be a great boost w the amp. With either of those into my OD pedals and then to amp there are lots of gain options. I have tried a klon clone w it and didn't care for it. I've also used a Timmy and Tim in the past but have since moved them along. I don't play tunes that need higher gain in the bands I work for and I tend to stack pedals if I want more dirt and sustain. An example of that rig would be : xotic SP comp-SL Drive-EP boost or 2B-OCD v.1.7 or my current rig which is a Park Fuzz-RC2-BB pre for my drive section. I have the BB set up for creamy break up at rhythm levels and then use the boost to bring it out for solos if needed. Here's an old pic of some tone stacks I have and use: ibb.co/cERKX6

I'd go Bad Bob, especially with Gretsch/Tele style guitars and Brown Deluxe style amps.

My experience is very dated as I stopped using dirt\boost pedals many years ago but it was with a Z-28 so I'll share. My favorite combination was a Box of Rock for clean boost and heavier OD and an Exotic RC with the gain up for light OD. I really liked the voicing of the BoR with the Z-28. The BoR clean boost had a bit of coloration to it but I actually preferred it to the RC.

Try a Bondi Sick As into a Z-28 with a 10'' Gold. Or a Hudson Broadcast, which does also the fuzz thing and clean up very well.

I set my Z28 at the clean side of the edge of breakup, use a BB Preamp as my main dirt, and have a Fulltone Fat Boost 3 in front of it(set dirty). The FB3 is either a lead boost/low gainer if playing cleanish rhythm, or a lead boost stacked into the BB when playing dirty rhythm.
Using the FB3 as a low gainer works, but I've been thinking of replacing it with either a Mythical Overdrive Lil MO or the new RC Boost if it'll fit. Whatever I choose has to be FB3 sized or smaller and an ACTUAL low gainer.

I could give you another thought/option. I actually use a Wampler 57 Tweed pedal with my rig and the Z28. It is almost like having a second channel on the amp if you want to use it that way. It is very versatile as it has a 3 band eq and it has a toggle for increasing the gain stage if you want. You can set it up as a volume boost with a little grit, change the eq if you want, or second gain pedal. It seems to stack well with other drives that I have used. I play in a gospel group and at home church. I know it is not exactly the pedals that you are looking at but it is worth a look.

Thanks for all your input guys! just as an update. My wife surprised me with getting the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe for christmas. I was talking about this pedal with my little brother who works at guitar center. They ended up getting it.
Right now, I have the tumnus deluxe as the first drive in my chain, followed by the OCD, which is then followed by the Timmy. I use the timmy as more of a light-medium gain with some boost on the volume, and the OCD as my med-heavy drive. The tumnus plays extremely well with both, and the fact that I can tame the mids a bit makes it work very well with the z-28. I'm really happy! Just in case you guys were curious about the tumnus deluxe with the z-28....it's awesome.

Glad to hear you've found a happy pairing. The '28 takes pedals so well and ODs, boosts and even distortions sound great w a little tweaking.

I still LOVE my BB Preamp with the Z28 and have recently added the newer RC Booster v2 in front of it/into it. GREAT low gainer or pure transparent clean boost. OR BOTH at the same time! GREAT combo, they compliment each other perfectly, neither does what the other can, and they sound amazing together or alone. Dont see these leaving my board anytime soon.
I would still like to hear what the Rimrock Effects Mythical Overdrive(vintage spec) sounds like. Its a Klon clone. I think with the Z28, you gotta be careful with ADDING to many mids to the signal since its a fairly mid forward amp already.

I can dial down the mids, but still get that klon character through. It's more of a high mid/top end sparkle more than anything else though. It's a very versatile pedal. I have it more of a clean boost with some hair on it if i hit the strings hard.
