when i set the artinuater at bedroom level wit my Maz 18jr set on my regular higher volume settings, i get a killer lead tone that I wish I could get at higher volume levels......I dont know if this is a compression issue or what.... anyone familiar with this? any suggestions?

It's a combination of the Fletcher-Munson acoustic curves and the difference in the way loudspeakers sound when they are being driven hard. It's physics in action, coupled with the way your brain interprets what your ear hears. There is always a compromise involved when you're trying to get identical sounds at vastly different dB levels, and I don't know of a way to work around the issue. I'd sure be interested in hearing a way to do it though.

ok.. guess it sounds like a dumb kid question...i have been playing for over 40 years I am not technically competant....i know what sound I like.... I just thought that someone out there who plays through a maz jr with an artinuator(brake) would have experienced what i am describing
