Just curious if anyone had pushed their Z-Wreck through a 1x10.
I know many here prefer the Wreck combo with the Celestion Gold being the speaker of choice, but I’m wondering if anyone has given it a try with the G10 Gold. Speaker is rated at 40 watts, so I’m guesing it would be able to handle it, but I’m more interested in the sound. And, since we’re on the 10” topic, I’m curious about the Greenback 10 (30 Watts) as well.
Looking for some info from those who might have actually made attempts with a Wreck and a 10” attached. I tried searching, but could not really find much.

DC here! I have the Z-Wreck combo with the Celestion Gold 12" But my Route66 goes through the Z 2x10" cab. Used to have a Music Man 65W combo with 2x10" speakers. Have always favored 10" speakers - to my ears or possibly mind (lols) 10 inch speakers always seemed punchier more percussive and responsive to picking styles (YMMV) Cheers: Dixiechicken!

Thanks for the reply, DC.
I just recently got a Wreck head, but as all of my other amps are combos (both with M-65 Creambacks), I don’t have anything specifically for the Wreck. The only separate cab I have is a Z 1x10 cab loaded with a Greenback. I was considering purchasing a 10” Gold, which is what prompted my question, but after trying out the Greenback, I really preferred the single 12”. Not that the 1x10 sounded bad, just that it was very focused and direct. That made it seem a little more harsh sounding to me than the 12” speaker. I know it is difficult to compare, but the 12 just felt more full and pleasing to my ears. I could be wrong but I think I’d rather move the 1x10 cab and look into a 1x12 with a Gold. Sounds like there may be a new Z cab in my future.
