I have a Scarlett 2i2 DAC and a Maz 18. I have 2 questions:
1) I'm trying to see if it's possible I can play audio (backing tracks) as the output of my computer, into the scarlet, into the amp, at the same time the guitar is also plugged into the amp and I play over top of it. I assume I need some kind of 1/4" splitter or something? What is the best way?
2) Will it cause damage to my amp to play actual music out of it? Just as an experiment I played lossless Little Wing file out of my amp and the sound was absolutely insane... it sounded like it was live and gave me chills. I'd consider using it to play music out of occasionally unless it's somehow bad for the amp (perhaps if the speaker isn't built for frequencies outside of guitar frequencies)
Thanks!

You really need a small mixer to do that. It's not a good idea to try doing this with a Y splitter. Long ago before I knew better I tried it and it just sounds bad. It's also a bad idea to feed any amplifier's output to a guitar pickup, which is what will happen unless you use a buffer of some sort, or a cheap mixer. You can pick one up for under $50 that will work. Really though, you should have separate amplifier for each signal. It's going to sound WAY better.
