I re-tubed my Prescription ES head about 9 years ago and it's probably time to do a re-tube, mainly just the power tubes. I only play out about once a month.
I've been running a Brimar 12AX7 in V1, a Mullard EF86 for the tone stack and a matched Quad of NOS Tesla EL84's. I got all of these from KCANOS and have loved the sound, its just starting to get a little tired.
The Mullard rectifier is good and I bet the Brimar and Mullard tubes are fine, but I'm thinking of trying some of the NOS REflektor 6n14n tubes for the power section.
How are these tubes?

chrisscooter1 check out this thread : ztalk.proboards.com/thread/72832/6n14n-availableThe 6n14n (6p14p) in this thread is the stock output tube in many Dr.Z amps. Forum member perryr is the source. I think his contact info is in the thread. I think I read that the 6n14n from perryr is not the same as other Russian 6n14n's from the other tube vendors. Perry is a pleasure to deal with and the tubes he has sound outstanding. I've had one in my Maz 8 for over a year. Still sounds great.
