Depending on how one looks at it, I either have (1) too many amps, a lot of them heads, or (2) too small a music room at home. I know it's the latter Anyway, my lovely red Therapy has been out of the rotation for a while. Put it on top of a Z Best and went at it with my LP. Such a rich tone. I think I like it more than the Remedy, which had been plugged into the cab previously. I had forgotten how wonderful the clean sounds are. And it responded beautifully to the (Strymon) Riverside. My ears are still ringing a bit. Have to turn the Master down when I play today. I'll do it before I turn the amp on; otherwise, I'd probably be seduced again by the tone at volume. I should try it with a 1x12 cab, since that would be an option for a gig. (Z Best does not suit the venues we play.) I don't need a ton of volume. Anyone use a Creamback (97dB)? Thoughts? I would probably run the amp fairly clean and use a pedal of OD sounds.

For what I do (99% of the time) it’s absolutley perfect because it allows me to get that master past the Therapy 2 o’clock. Having a Therapy you know what I mean by that. The 97db is great in that arena. The speaker tone itself is also perfect for me because it’s so smooth. IMO the Therapy can be a raspy amp with the V30. Not a bad raspy, just a sound I don’t prefer. I loved this speaker cab so much I bought another identical one. Sometimes I run two Z Creamback cabs but the truth is I never need to with a live band. I just wrote about not being loud enough but that was such a rare occasion and those guys were unearthly too loud lol. You won’t be disappointed with the Creamback 65.

I liquidated all but one convertible cab and just ordered a 2x12 open back cab for my ASW Elegante and KTS70. Since you can't get 'em empty, I ordered it with two speakers I thought would be easiest to sell, a G12H30 and a Creamback M.
For old time's sake, I loaded the Creamback into the empty 1x12. I posted in another thread that I rediscovered a newfound love for the M65. It pairs just beautifully with the Therapy and the DB4. There is a lot of tonal overlap with the Alnico Cream (I have two of these in a closed back Boogie cab right now), and with it being only 97 dB, it's definitely more house friendly for me.
If I had to pick, I'd prefer the Alnico Cream with the Therapy, but if you're looking to shave some volume at less than half the cost, the Creamback is an excellent option. Also, if you're looking for an American style speaker, the WGS G12A is a great choice at 96 dB. WGS rates this conservatively, and is probably closer to a real life 98 dB.

I've tried a Creamback, Greenbacks and ASW KTS70, and ended up with a well broken in Vintage 30 in a 1-12 open back for the Therapy for most smaller to medium sized gigs. If we are on an outdoor stage or in a larger convention hall I will go with a Vintage 30 and KTS70 in a closed back 2-12. Doc said the Vintage 30 is the right speaker for the tone stack of the Therapy and as always I think he got it right. It's probably not a great choice for home playing though because the Vintage 30 is a higher efficiency speaker that needs to be working a bit.

With 1x12's I've tried the Creamback 65, a G12H, EVM12L, Z-12, ET-65, G12-75, and finally settled on a V-30. The Therapy is an amazing amp, and each speaker brings it's own flavor to the banquet.
The thing that I like about the V30 over the Creamback is the mid-high push that it brings. The Therapy's a rather dark sounding amp and the Creamback is a great speaker, but for my ears at age 65 at least, the V-30 sounds just right. It opens the presence of the amp up and, again for me, it is a better fit. I just wish it was also a 97dB speaker like the Creamback is. Then it'd be perfect for my needs. I guess that's why I keep my Air Brake on top of it.

I've been using a WGS Veteran (their version of an "improved" Vintage 30 ymmv) and am generally happy with the sound. I tried a Celestion Gold and liked it with humbuckers, but found it too bright for my single coil guitars for my taste. I really liked the sound of an Avatar 25 Alnico speaker ... Similar to the Gold, but not quite as much high end. However, since it is only a 25 watt speaker, I am hesitant to use it with the Therapy. FWIW, Avatar has a 50 watt version as well, but I haven't tried it.

I'm using a Creamback 65 in a 112 cab with my Therapy. I like it. It's on the darker side, but that's ok. I might at some point try something different.
I also have a Bassman cab for my old Bassman head that has a WGS Veteran 30 and a Jensen C12N (original, the other Jensen blew up before I bought it). I haven't tried it in that amp yet. Just need to do it! I love blending british and american sounding speakers in the same cab. On a 212 I do one of each. On a 412 I do diagonal, so two Jensen style diagonal and two Celestion style diagonal. It works very well. I get the midrange grunt from the WGS/Celestion, and the pretty top end and crisp low end from the Jensen/Weber. I don't know anyone else who blends the two different types, just different of the same brand. I find it makes for a very versatile cabinet and not at all out of balance or anything. It's very full range that way.
