I wanted to share a quick story relating to the Z-Lux.
In short, I played the Chevrolet Main Stage at the State Fair of Texas on Saturday before and during the Texas/OU game (hook 'em!). We did 3 sets in the blazing sun, and I do mean blazing. The bandshell is completely painted matte black, and during this time of year, the sun unrelentingly tracks across the front of the stage for the entire afternoon. Fellow Texans will understand the intensity of the autumn sun in Texas during our usual October Indian Summers. Brutal.
After Pat Green's crew got done with line check and push back, we set up our gear, which, for me, was a 2015 Z-Lux, my ES-335 w/Lollar El Rayo pickups (love them), and a Mogami cable. After the crew got mics and lines set up, we did a quick sound check, which went well. We were headed to the hospitality trailer to chill before the first set, when the sound engineer approaches me and asked "man, which Dr. Z is that? That thing sounds killer!" Being the enthusiast that I am, I delved deeply into the Z-Lux' front end, back end, tube layout (and that I swapped the 6V6s for 5881s), wattage, boost, etc. He was really complimentary of my tone, and, during our show, I looked over a couple of times at him and got a "right on" thumbs up. It was very gratifying, and, hopefully, I sold another unit for the Good Doctor.
Keep on pickin'.

Great story! That kind of encouragement and reaction just takes your playing and enthusiasm to the next level.

Great to hear! I'm diggin' my Z-lux, especially w/ my Gretsch. Haven't had a chance to gig her yet but I'm looking forward to it, especially on bigger stages. I played one restaurant gig since I got 'er and it's tight getting us all in there, so I went w/ my old Swart AST instead.

Oowl - I was wondering how my Z-Lux would fare on a bigger stage, and it was GREAT. More than adequate volume. It kept up with the Super on the other side of the stage just fine.
