Hey everyone...
I am curious to the brand and gauge strings others are using.
I have been using D'Addario EXL120 (9's) for years. I just experimented with a set of D'Addario EXL110BT (10's Balanced Tension) and really liked them. They are just a little bit harder to bend, but seem to have a better tone on my Tele.
Thanks David

I use both the D'Addario 9's and 10's depending on how long the gig may be. But I also like their 9.5 set - very useful.

I've been using D'Addario 9's & 10's for about a year and a half. I've tried the balanced tension 9's & 10's too. I liked them. I have a set of 9.5's I haven't tried yet. D'Addario seems to be a good product at a reasonable price.

Went from d'addarios to (ghs) burnished nickel rocker's 10' strats...11's tele/wanting more string tension...just went through trying to get more tension on strats...cranking the claw screws...contemplating another spring...but suhr you raise bridge plate...
I stopped using 11's on tele for a while..just recently went back to them...but man tone on that thing w/11's...

Ernie Ball 10's. All the tone of 10's and easy to bend. Been using them for years and have no reason to stray.

Ernie Ball 10's been using them for years as well. They are really solid strings. I rarely break a string with them. I like the tone I get from them with my strats. Tried some other brands and just didn't like them.

Elixir Optiweb 10's on all my Gibsons except my SG Standard which has Elixir Nanoweb 9's. On my Tele I use Optiweb 9's. On my Rickenbackers I use Elixir Nanoweb 10's on my 6 string and Thomastik-Infeld flatwound 10's on my 12 string.

Elixir Polywebs since they came out on everything since they came out, except my 12-string Rickenbackers (Rickenbacker strings.) I have recently switched to Nanowebs.

I'm a fan of Thomastik Infield flatwounds (.011s). They sound great, feel great, are easy on the frets, and last a long time.

Strat and Tele: d’Add EXL115 (11-49) plain 3rd CS336 and Guild Bluesbird: d’Add EXL115w (11-49) wound 3rd Heritage Golden Eagle and ES330: d’Add EHR370 (11-49) round wound
This way, everything feels roughly the same to me.

Used D'Addario 0.009's (EXL120) as a beginner, then stepped up to 0.010's (EXL110) a few years later. Every couple years I'd try a different gauge or brand--up to 0.011's, back down to 0.009's, GHS, Ernie Ball, etc.--but I keep coming back to the D'Addario 0.010's.
Strangely, too, I've tried the "balanced tension" sets--which should feel "balanced" according to the physics of it--but they felt strangely unbalanced to me. To me, it's as if the ol' standard set was designed for proper, balanced feel all along (go figure!).
Now, I will say this--to go just a little lighter than 0.010's, I don't mind the 0.0095's (D'Addario EXL120+), BUT... that 2nd "B" plain 0.0115" string has to be replaced with a 0.012". I know it's only half a thousandth difference, but that 0.0115" is just too skinny there.

I've been using DR Pure Blues 11-50s for a long while now, but I am considering switching to whatever Collings put on my 290 (I think they are D'addarios).

D'Addario XL 10's....for about 30 years.
However, if I ever (or 'whenever') pick up the electric again, I'm going to use 9's.

Ernie Ball Super Slinky's on everything. Used to use Regular Slinky's but as I've gotten older, I prefer a slightly lighter feel. The small difference in tone (to me) is easily made up with the good Doc's amps (and a pedal or two).

D'Addario EXL110's (10's) on long scale guitars (Fenders) D'Addario EXL115's (11's) on my short scale guitars (Gibsons & Collings) Replace D'Addario with Ernie Ball, and this is me, too. For a really long time now. I'm just trying to get the string tension to feel about the same on all my guitars.

DR Pure Blues 10-46 on most of my guitars or 11-52 on the 21fret tele. I used D’addario for years but found the DRs to last longer with my sweaty hands.

I played DR's for years, started with the standard "Tite Fit" then "Pure Blues" then "High Beams", I LOVED the High beams but ran into a long batch of them that began breaking prematurely, I made the rounds through most of the other brands and eventually landed on Ernie Ball Heavy Slinky .011-.048; this for electric. Acoustic wise I've used Elixer Nanoweb .011's for like...ever, haha!!

Exactly, my acoustics get the least play time so I figured a long lasting string would better benefit that instrument. I hate picking up a guitar, especially an acoustic, and feeling brittle corroded strings.

I have used Daddarios 9s for years and recently switched to slinky cobalts ...they are very dynamic and I love the feel. Check them out you may be surprised
