Mids off? Is this a particularly Mid heavy amp?

Mids off? Is this a particularly Mid heavy amp? I believe brother randy likes the blackface-style clean Amp is quite well balanced sonically, imo. Depending on the guitar I hear a "flat" eq with the tone knobs at noon +/-; that's with Volume below noon. The highs seem a little more forward as Volume goes up from there, but not as much as with the Z-Lux.

It gets pretty mid-heavy when you hit the EQ bypass. Which is why I leave it off.

Thanks everyone. I'm getting there with volume at noon, master on full, mids at noon, treble 2-3, bass 9-10, level to room. Of course, it also depends on the guitar.

V - 11 T - 10 M - noon B - 10 Master - wide open Level - as needed No EQ bypass
Also, to help with clean headroom, I replaced the Z speaker (99db) with a C-Rex (102.5db). Sonically very similar, but the C-Rex rolls off a little bit of the highs to my ears.

My Strat, Rickenbacker, les paul & ES-175 all have different EQ settings but usually I set the volume around 10;30 and master all the way up. If I dont want to deal with pedals, then put the volume up around 2-3, jack up the treble and roll the volume down to clean up. The boost pedal is invaluable to me as is that cool little knob on the side of it.

I may have to experiment next time and not use the boost. I feel that it is mid heavy to me though. Sometimes I run the mid's at about 11 But as Mike stated earlier I am after the blackface type cleans.

Let me add that I get a boost from my pedalboard as I run a Cali76 Comp and a Vertex Boost, always-on. Both are set just a bit above unity, and combined they add a nice clean push from the board.

I'm playing it everyday, trying to find that magic mix between EQ, volume, master, and level.

I wouldn't change a thing really nice clean tone and headroom. With the EQ bypass off it made a huge difference. Thanks LT!

I’m coming to the conclusion that the key to Cure cleans is guitar volume. On other amps, I can get cleans with my guitar volume around 3/4, but on the Cure, guitar volume needs to be around half.

As suggested on another thread here, I set the Master and Level on 5:00 and used Volume to control the overall volume, and, there it is, Cure Clean as nice as any Fender. Thank you, Z-Talk Brothers!
