I look at all the topics, and other than the Bluesbreaker 2x12 combo, I haven't heard mention of a 1x12 version, so I thought I'd ask. Anyone heard whether or not the good Dr. Has any plans on releasing the EMS in a 1x12 version? Maybe even a lower wattage version? Just curious. I'm not a head/cab guy, and I'm mostly an at home player. But, in the next few months I'm going to be working with a band on a semi-regular basis, and I'm looking for another amp to add to my lineup. Something British...have been considering a Monza, but the EMS has my undivided attention. Doc knows how to build an amp!

I haven't heard anything about a 1x12 - but who knows? Again, the demand for Marshall combos (or Marshall style combos) is not high. Just look at Ebay or Reverb and you'll see combos going for less than the heads of the same year despite the higher cost. You could always pair it with a 1x12 speaker if you have to have the 12" speaker.

A head and a nice 1x12 loaded with say a 65 watt Creamback would work pretty well. I'm not sure the 2x12 EMS Bluesbraker combo will be a sales success, but it sure looks and sounds amazing. Z

Z Fair enough. I've never been one for a head/cab setup. I've been playing 1x12 combo amps for 20 years, so I guess I'm set in my ways. But, I will eventually make the trip up to Humbucker Music and hear the EMS for myself. I might just be convinced to change my ways!

Or maybe the new Bluesbreaker and just pull one of the 12" speakers and use a single 65w Creamback?

I think Mather would charge about $400.

I'd like to think that the EMS in the Z-Wreck-style 1x12 combo cab (controls on top, back; full valence on front) would be pretty cool. However, something tells me that the EMS and Z-Wreck do not share common chassis sizes, so this might be tough/impossible. But you never know... if Doc's right about the 2x12 Bluesbreaker combo not being a huge hit, maybe he'd reconsider with a similar 1x12 like the Z-Wreck.
