My first Z, and wondered if this buzzing from the amp is a normal thing I've been using a fender for years and am not accustomed to this much noise My Reverb is somewhat weak too. Running it on 12 and not much Reverb...

You're gonna need to give us some more details on this for us to attempt to help.

Welcome to the forum! Here are a few questions re the noise.
Is the amp new or used?
Any changes in the signal path? (pedal board, pedals, cables)
Anything in the room that may cause the noise? (fluorescent lights, cell phone near amp)
Do you still have a Fender amp in the same room NOT making the noise?
If the Maz was bought used, when were the tubes changed out last?
Keep us posted on your findings.

Keep us posted on your findings. Bought used. 2001 model. Replaced preamp tubes. 90% of the hum disappeared. Most noise was coming from v3 & v4. 12ax7's in all 5 positions currently. Gotta find a 12at7...

Thanks for the info. It has been said that most noise issues are tube related and it looks like you got most of it dialed out. Something else to try if you haven't yet is to spray contact cleaner (DeOxit is a good one) on the pins of each tube and reinsert them a few times to clean out any oxidation or dirt. If yoyur Maz has an effects loop you should spray some cleaner on a 1/4 inch jack and plug/unplug a few times to clean that. Other than the EL84s and the 12at7 it looks like you've covered the basics. Keep us posted on your results and I am sure others will chime in on other things to look at.

I may need some new filter caps too since its 16 years old... My Mazerati is from '00. Mostly stock other than simple tube changes. While it could possibly be a capacitor issue. It's most likely is the tubes. Can the buzz/hum be heard while playing?

<< Gotta find a 12at7... >> Yup.... getting the right 12AT7 in V3 will probably help your verb a lot. Here's a link to Doc's tube page: drzamps.com/support/tube-info/He recommends JJ. I currently have a Tung-Sol (12AU7) in V3 in my Maz 8. I like the verb with either the Tung-Sol or the JJ as a reverb driver in the Maz 8. Welcome aboard, and good luck. Let us know how it works out.

Antique Electronic Supply has a 25% off sale on NOS tubes right now. I saw they had 12AT7's pretty cheap. Like $12.00 or so.
