I just had a guitar lesson with the great Brent Mason!!!!! Super cool! I played some riffs for him and he just said we need to get you out of the habit of playing the kind of thing everybody else is playin'. That being pentatonic major Working Man blues riffs, etc. He said those things are fine but I can already play that stuff. Then he showed me open string riffs, and chromatic riff, and weird timing riffs, and jazzy riffs, playing off passing chords, etc. Enough to keep me busy for a very long time. And you just couldn't meet a nicer guy!

That is SO cool!
I know Brent is a stellar player, but do you think he is a good teacher?

That is SO cool! I know Brent is a stellar player, but do you think he is a good teacher? I do but I also think you have to be a good learner, a determined learner. He is going to take you out of your comfort zone. You need to look it as things you will be working on long after the lesson is done.

That's going to get you to next level...cant say enough about a good teacher that gives you confidence to want to strive for that goal...good looper to put down chord changes...oh and I know you know this already but...its all out the window once you go live ...that's the goal im working as well...
