I'm strongly considering purchasing a Remedy but was hoping that some of you could comment on your view of the clean tones available in the Remedy. I know most people are more concerned with the gain tones in a plexi style amp, but I definitely need to understand the clean side before I move forward.
Thanks for your help! Any clips would also be appreciated...

Check out this video, where Mike A/B's between a Fender Princeton Reverb and a Remedy w/reverb pedal. It's a great demo of what the Remedy can do clean instead of just the overdriven stuff that most people want to hear (but he's got lots of those videos of the Remedy, too).

I don't usually crank my Remedy...it's usually set with both volumes around 9-10 o'clock or so, then I get any needed overdrive from an OCD or Paisley Drive, so my clean rhythm sound is basically guitar-straight-to-amp with a touch of delay that stays on all the time for ambience. In other words, the non-overdrive sound is pretty much clean Remedy. The main two important things about my clean sound is note articulation and tone, and the Remedy has never failed to impress. I have an older non-master Rem by the way (and no desire to change it).

Thanks for your help! Any clips would also be appreciated... The Remedy has terrific cleans. That said, they are not classic country style cleans. Even though that video would make you think it is, I could never get it to sound clean like that and LOUD. I play in a loud country rock band, and I gigged that amp for about a year. The only time I felt like I was cheating was when we would do a really loud version of Folsom Prison, with a train beat on the drums. It just didn't stay clean at the volume I needed. But for everything else, it worked great. I ended up switching over to to the ZLux because of its cleans.

Definitely not looking for country cleans. I play mostly at church now and frankly I want to let the Christian world know that God created tones other than the over used AC30!
I just get tired of homogenous sounding guitars on every track we do...

The Rem has great cleans. If you're using single coil (lower powered) pickups, the rem will stay clean up until about noon on the master volume (I have a NMV rem). That should be loud enough for gigs. If you primarily use humbuckers or high powered pickups, I would not recommend the rem for clean tones. My Les Paul breaks up at very low volume settings.

I loved the clean tones of the Remedy, but I could never get it to stay clean "enough" at gig volumes, even with speaker and tubes swaps. That's just me though...
It's really not designed for clean sounds at volume, but excels at mildly broken to full on OD tones. A glorious sounding amp - one of my favorite Zs ever.

I gigged my Remedy many times as a clean platform for a couple dirt pedals. It did a fine job for me.

I will have an opinion on the Remedy cleans in about 8 days.
Red Remedy from Michigan heading to California!

Thanks for your help! Any clips would also be appreciated... I can't find my video right now, but playing my '57 AVRI Strat through an EHX Holy Grail Max into the Remedy got me the closest to SRV's Lenny tone I've ever heard in person. So good.
