Does the zwreck have white noise when the standby is on? Mine seems to have noise and just wondering if its normal or maybe a bad preamp tube?

Definitely not normal. When I'm stand by mine is dead silent. I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell you what it might be though

I do want to clarify- Its when the amp is fully on- That the white noise is there.
Not in stand by mode.

Gotcha. In that case yeah i get some of that whether I have a tele with single coils or my 335 with humbuckers plugged into the amp. Couldn't tell ya if it happens with no guitar plugged in since I never turn it fully on without a guitar already plugged into it.
I have noticed that the white noise decreases the lower the volume (obiously) AND also when the cut knob is lowered.

Quiescent noise is the correct term. Another word used for this is "blow" which is a slang tech term, some refer to it as white noise which is incorrect. The quiescent condition of a tube or a transistor is when it is fully biased but there is no signal applied to the input. Totally normal.

So thats means the noise is fine? I do believe its there with no guitar cord plugged in. I may swap around tubes and see if it goes away. I have a 64 super reverb which is almost dead quiet even vol. up. As soon as i flip the standby on the wreck i hear hum- static?

You said white noise, not hum or static. It sounded like you describing blow. Hum or static is a different symptom

Sorry for my lack of electronic noise knowledge. The noise is when the amp is turned on. I can hear almost like a transformer hum. But its soft and fizzy like whtie noise. I have time tonight to swap tubes , im sure its either normal or a preamp tube.

Trying to solve noise issues in a discussion is tough to do.

Trying to solve noise issues in a discussion is tough to do. Thats sure true! I still havent made the time to try the tube swap. Perhaps today- But it could be my electric in the house- Its not a crazy noise- just my old super reverb is quieter. I had a Rivera?? And it was really noisy- but supposedly That was normal for that amp- i sold it!

As well, I think it can be a by-product of the types of resistors, etc, used (carbon comp can be noisy and things get quitter when you get into metal film, etc.?. I think I've heard Doc refer to this as 'shot noise' in the past. I have a couple amps that have this phenomenon. Even though the hiss is audible the noise floor disappears with the volume of the amp. I find 60 cycle hum way more objectionable than the white noise....that's why I love noiseless Pups !

Long Delay here-- but I went through tubes and swapped one preamp tube that seemed not good. The hum Im hearing must be from the transformers?? The tubes are fine!!
SO another wreck owners hear a mild hum coming from the amp? turn on power then turn on stand by= low hum.. My other amps don't have that hum but the wreck does. Its not a crazy hum.. can't hear it when i play..

Does the hum seem to come from the transformer , or is thru the speaker? You may just need to make sure all chassis screws and bolts are tight.

Only tube I haven’t tried is the rectifier - so ill get a new one and see if that’s it- I don’t think its a transformer at this point.
