Just shipped my JAZ 20/40 (2x10 combo) to a fellow in CA. (Sold it on Reverb.) I don't think he's a regular here, but he's very familiar with Dr Z, as I discovered during several calls to tee up the deal. So it's gone to a good home. I will miss the amp . But I won't miss the weight: 72 lbs boxed for shipping .

72lbs reminds me of Maz Jr 2x10. Miss the tone but don't miss carrying it.
Sounds like you found a nice home for your 20/40. Great sounding amp!!

That musta cost a bit of change to ship from NY to CALIF!!!!! $75 UPS ground, including a modest discount from Reverb along with Reverb's seller protection.

With the ZLux in hand I guess it was just a matter of time. Congrats on the sale.

That's a nice discount reverb gives for shipping. I just sent a z lux from Chicago to New Mexico at 54 lbs via UPS and it cost me $106 and some change

With the ZLux in hand I guess it was just a matter of time. Congrats on the sale. Thanks, Nick. I struggled to make this call, but I just couldn't justify hanging on to both. Plus, I'm sorely tempted by the EMS and letting something go eases the way for something new to come in.

It's nice to make room for something new. Nothing like NAD. Hope to read a report from you about the EMS some day. Always like your take on this stuff.

That's good to know. We traded amps so wouldn't have been able to take advantage of the discount, and the one coming my way was just a few dollars less at 42 lbs.

That is a great discount. I just shipped a Mini-Z from Michigan to Virginia and it was almost $50. That was in original Z box and packaging...

I'm surprised it took you this long to put it up for sale Mike after getting the Z-Lux.... They're great amps for sure but given the choice today I personally would go for the Z-Lux. Congrats on the sale.

Congrats on the sale. Took me about a year to get my head to that point, Dan. Z-Lux acquired May 2015; JAZ gone June 2017. Part of it was the 2x10 configuration of the JAZ. I really like Z 2x10 combos. Except they weigh a lot.

Well, I finally let my JAZ go also. In the 2x10 configuration I have to say it was the best sounding amp I have ever owned. That is saying something since during the 54 years I have played I have owned something like 60 different amps.

It's stayed as my favorite combo for that American type sound. What are you going to replace it with?

I have a MAZ 8 for low volume stuff, a Traynor YGM-3 (heavily tweaked) for the 20 watt range, and a Fryette Power Station if I need to re-amp for anything louder. I still have a hankering for a Carmen Ghia.
