You've got ALL the bases covered with that rig, brother! Very nice! DIG! Thanks MD, that's how I felt. Everything you need, nothing you don't, best of everything. The Z-Lux is the ultimate pedal platform. Contest over, it's the clear winner. The most difficult part was coming up with the right drive pedals. The Catapulp was in a contest between it and the OCD and a JHS @, and it was a fierce battle. In the end the Catapulp cleans up better than the OCD and just has a great 70's rock vibe going on. The JHS @ is more aggressive and total Song Remains the Same, which I love, but I felt the Catapulp would cover more territory like Steely Dan, etc. It has a more complex kind of sound. There may be better distortions than the BE-OD and admittedly I have always been more of an OD person so I really don't know but I'm in a band now that does some stuff like The Offspring and Theory of a Deadman and I needed to pump out the bass. The BE-OD does that pretty well. I only have the gain on 10 o'clock and that's plenty. I love being a gear nerd. I wonder if there is a matching speaker cab to stack with the Z-Lux? Edit: Actually I believe there is! drzamps.com/product/1x12/I'm going to have to get one of those!

I love being a gear nerd. Yer in good company, my friend.... I have 3 ODs on my board: an Xotic AC, a Klone, and a Wampler Clarksdale Delta OD (Tubecreamer). Since the Lux has a somewhat Fendery mid scooped sound, I really like the mid hump of the Clarksdale (tubescreamer) with it... Sounds like you have spent quite some time (and obviously some $$$) so you're prolly satisfied with your current sound, but if you feel adventurous, the tubescreamer-type OD's sound great with the Lux......

Great recommendation! I have that pedal, and I like it. I used to have a massive board and this one was a strategic downsizing. I still have the Clarksdale on another board. I felt this combination of dirt covered the territory I needed better. The other board is more 60's & 70's focused.

Rarely, on occasion, but just with a Morley A/B/Y box, nothing sophisticated like a Radial Tone Bone switcher....Usually, the Monza is there as a lonely backup, but if the crowd gets rowdy on the last set, the Monza gets the call.... Sometimes you just can't beat "Billy in a box" (the Monza)....

Sometimes you just can't beat "Billy in a box" (the Monza).... Yah, I've struggled with the idea of getting that one. That is where my music spirit lives! My band reality is that I need to cover many era's. One day maybe I'll get one just for fun. Or one day maybe I'll form or join a band just because I like the music and not care about marketability.
