Hi Ya'll,
I am new to the forum and Z's.
I have a Z on the way and was wondering what the majority of you guys do for some wet sounds.
Z Verb? Strymon? Wet dry rig? Etc..
Jerry

Hi Jerry, Welcome to the forum!
With my Wreck, I am using a Greer Tiger Delay for longer stuff, an Aqua Puss for slap and a Boing pedal for spring verb. They all work well and I think the Wreck works well with any type of delay.

It is a simple one knob spring verb pedal, based on a Deluxe Reverb. I love the sound and the simplicity of it and it won't break the bank!

I use a Strymon EL Capistan for delay and a Strymon Blue Sky for reverb. They sit in the effects loop off my Fryette Power Station and they sound fantastic in the loop.

I use a Strymon Flint with my Z Wreck....and sometimes an MXR Carbon Copy (delay) set to give a reverb effect...

+ 1 on the Flint. I rarely use delay but when I do it's usually a Timeline or an old 80's era Boss DD-3 w Keeley mod.

El cap has built in reverb as well if you like to combine the two.
For spring I like the recently discontinued wampler faux spring. For a dark, more cavernous verb the EQD ghost echo is great.

I notice most have not gone the Z Verb way.
Is it the expense or the versatility of some real well made pedals?
I am more about quality sound than versatility, am I leaning toward a Z Verb?

For me, it is certainly the expense of the Z-verb. I would love to have it, but I don't use verb enough to justify the expense. I have only ever heard one on video, but every time I do hear one, I want one!

A bit of reverb is the only effect I ever really use I don't like to lose tone through effects.

I LOVE Z Verb. Someday I'll get one to play thru That said, I already have a Z28 sized road case in my overseas rig, and as much as I would like to have one I just can't justify adding another piece to move/ship/store across the pond. I don't like any of the pedals because when I turn the guitar up, the effect level goes up exponentially. So I just hope for a good sounding room that's a little 'wet'. I have been very fortunate that some of our Z Bros have made some of their Z's available to me.
