Is there any concern about heat dissipation if using a brakelite in a closed back cabinet?
Thanks.

You wouldn't be able to get to it to adjust if it was totally enclosed.

I guess if you don't need to get at it to change the settings (?), then the main issue would be the size of the cab and how long you would be using it at any one time. They do get warm.

I typically use the 2nd click, for most of the rooms I play. If I needed to make a change I could simply remove the center panel. So it's the heat I was concerned with.

I'd open the back panel....or not do it.

I'd open the back panel....or not do it. OK. If it's switched off does it still generate heat? I'm thinking no.

Sit it outside the cab if you like it closed back....or open the back...or turn off.... But then, why have it. Just extra weight.

If you are using no more than the second click of attenuation then you won't be dissipating more than about half of the power. My opinion is that you shouldn't have a problem. I've used mine when the ambient temperature was over 100 degrees F. I wouldn't think the temperature in the speaker cab would get any higher than that, especially if you aren't playing more than a 1 hour set. Again, that's just my opinion.

+100 to the above, plus a little nugget for ya. If your cab is a 1x12 DR.Z the BrakeLite screws will perfectly line up with a couple of the cab screws.

Thanks everyone for your input. After 2 weeks of gigs with my Remedy my feeling is that that the master volume works so well that the BrakeLite is not going to be necessary. Gotta admit, didn't expect the master would work so well.
