I took the Cure to a church conference last weekend and found myself in some bad power. They fired up the electric piano and I instantly heard my volume drop on the Cure. I never could get it to sound the way I wanted it to. What do any of you use in a bad power situation?

A pair of wire cutters on the electric piano ought to work just fine.

If it's a one time gig....get through it as best you can and move on.
But you might want to carry a real long extension cable in your gig bag, so you can try a different power outlet.

It's a reacurring thing. Many of the inner city churches where I play have bad power. I do get through them the best I can. I just REALLY noticed it on this gig.

If it's a frequent and troubling issue, you might look into a voltage regulator like this one.

+1 on the voltage regulator. And that one is at a price point WAY below the ones from Furman. Thanks for the lead on that unit Mike!

I use the hum X it plugs in to the socket and I have a monster 800 Power strip that my amp and effects plug into. I deal with the same thing Some of these churches in the hood have horrible electric outlets and bad power.

Great advice on that voltage regulator--I have a furman power factor pro and it has served me well but I am not sure if they make it anymore. I just took it with me to every gig and never had to worry about bad power. The furman was way more expensive than the regulator Mike suggested. I am not sure if they are the same thing exactly. Do some research--I definitely recommend getting some kind of regulator--bad power can damage your amp.
