Just wondering if anyone has ever compared the two.
My JAZ is loaded with a G12H30 wondering if I should go ahead and get a Z12 for it.
Thanks!

I know that the Z12 in my Zlux sounds fantastic, far better than when I used a Creamback in it. What don't you like about the G12h30 in the Jaz?

Z12 is American, nice, firm bottom, slightly rolled off highs, recessed, but not scooped mids. Very warm and tames a bright amp nicely. The G12H is British, tight bass, slight mid push and extended highs. Gets ice picky in a bright amp. The Z12 is going to sound great right out of the box while the G12H30 will take forever to break in.
A lot of people like the G12H30 as a stand alone speaker. I am not one of those people. I have an ASW KTS70 paired up with a C-Gold and it's beautiful. By itself, it gets a tad sizzly on the high end, even with a dark amp like the DB4.
It's all going to boil down to what type of sounds you're looking for. I would recommend trying the Z12 for clean to slight break up, and some of the American speakers from WGS if you're going for anything beyond that.

I have a JAZ also and it came loaded with a G12H30. If you tend toward BF/SF Fender type amps I think you'll like the Z12 better.
When I bought my JAZ I was impressed in the store with the H30's big bottom but when I started playing live gigs with it I got tired of it pretty quickly. I decided to convert the cab to a 2x10. That worked fine for me since I always liked the Fenders with 10's better than 12's better anyway. I have kept the H30 in my stock thinking some day I'll load it in a sealed cab and use it as an extension speaker for outdoor gigs. I think that would suit that speaker better.
When I got my Z12 loaded MAZ 8 I patched that speaker over to several other amps to see how it matched up. My JAZ seemed to like it when I EQ'd it like a Fender with the mids rolled off.

I am also another one who does not care for the G12H by itself. It is a good speaker imo, and great, tight low end, but not a great overall speaker to me. It does sound very good in my Maz 38 Sr, but I prefer the Z12 with my Maz and formerly with an EZG that I had. The G12H does pair very nicely with a Celestion gold as previously mentioned. I seem to prefer the Z12 over my G12m-65 creamback too with different amps.
